I can only really speak to our gym- we can run a modified schedule and have less than 30 people in the gym at a time. Schools have to account for having hundreds going through the hallways and cafeteria etc. So school and cheer gym are 2 drastically different situations
Most likely, with exceptions for harder hit areas, we'll exit this similarly to the reverse of the way we entered it.
States that were slower with the Stay at Home orders will probably be the ones who are quicker to lift them.
Nationally, the guidance will probably start with allowing...
Please give your gyms the benefit of the doubt and keep supporting them during this time.
The last few days have been a little crazy, competitions cancelled because the recommendation was less than 500, so no comps but we could practice and we were proactive and adjusted our schedule some to...
please keep in mind that this is preliminary and was also just sent out to coaches to verify that it works for their teams and crossovers, division changes, etc
most comments of posts like these make it seem as if there is only one 12 year old and the rest are all 18+ When the reality is that there are most likely a 12 year old, a couple of 13 year olds, some 14-16 year olds, some older teenagers and maybe a few in their 20's. I could be wrong, but I...
just talk to your coaches about it first, they may have a solution if they know there is a problem. It could be privates, or it could be a change in their schedule, if enough people are wanting to have a class at a certain time they'll most likely find a way to make it work if possible. If...

with regards to code of points, scripting, cookie cutters and general scoring:
a system that rewards the skills performed instead of meeting a minimum threshold of certain skills would be better suited for having more inclusive teams where 75% of the team doesn't have to...
I think your last statement is the driving factor behind every other issue currently facing the industry, I guess the same problems were still there, it has just been magnified by the summit and the associated bid chasing behaviors
so one of the comments actually gave me an idea, do D1/D2 based off of the number of teams at the gym. That split should probably be around 5 Teams (allstar and prep combined)- you have some control over how you select teams so there is a certain amount of self selection available but it is not...
its an either or both situation- if you have 15 athletes you can't be extra small, if you have 3 males you can't be extra small
as in if you have 3 males and 5 girls you still go in the small division, if you have 1 male and 37 girls, you still go in the large coed or you could have 14 boys and...
There are good and bad gymnastics coaches and there are good and bad cheer tumbling coaches.
Advice and generalizations are pointless without knowing if they are good or bad- there are 2 gymnastics gyms around here that I would not want any of my kids training at and there is one that I would...
