I just heard back from the college I committed to that I made their all-girl team! I'm so glad that I have this opportunity to cheer next year :) and I'm even more excited to be cheering at football games!!

Oooh! For kick kick baskets I've definitely heard "kick-kick" ETA: I've just never heard anything for regular double downs. I have for baskets though!

Maybe it depends on the program. When my team performed double downs I don't think anyone ever said anything! But who knows, maybe people do and I just never noticed!

When a team throws handsprings, I usually say push! So a two to full would be "push-push-pull". And personally, I always said pull even if they throw jumps to full.

My varsity jacket was my favorite and the warmest. GTM is a cheaper alternative, but you can definitely see the lack of quality imo. Nike sidelines are my favorite hs cheer shoes, though!

I used to play this game called chicken on the roost. You split the team up into 2 groups: the taller girls and shorter girls. Then the two groups run in opposite directions in two different circles, one around the other. Then the coach randomly calls out random poses to do. And most of them...

Definitely bring a sweatshirt! I just wore a tank top when I was watching teams at the milkhouse, and my friend and I got so cold we ended up buying a sweatshirt.

Haha thank you! Football was never a big thing at my school, so I'm really excited to possibly being a part of something so big and such an awesome tradition. Tryouts will definitely be an experience in itself, I'm sure!:D
