Higher blood sugar levels after practice are actually quite normal. Although exercise "typically" lowers levels, it depends on the type of exercise. Lowering levels comes more from cardio type exercise. Cheer practice tends to be more strength, weight resistant type activity that will raise your...
I pretty much agree, no matter how its split, someone would be left out. Unless of course they omit level 5, after all, they have worlds ;p....seriously, just kidding.
As for not being a surprise, not so sure. We were last there in I believe 2010 and all our teams, level 2-5 competed 1day each...
Nothing but respect. I don't post often but have been a "fierce" reader/follower of the board since the "original" and have always found you respectful & informative in your posts. I completely understand & agree with your point, my own CP has been levels 2-4 and has filled in/helped out on 5 (...
If I could just shimmy this a million times! I've always admired & respected your organization & your posts/contribution here... This just sealed the deal, lol ;)
IMO EP's & others really need to take a hard look at who really are the major $$$$ contributors in this industry....the lower levels!! Do the math, they contribute FAR MORE to the end profit yet are many many times given "less" in venue, awards...etc. Without them, there would be no paid worlds...
Thanks. Haven't been in about 4 years, guess it was the last year they split all teams between the field house & Indiana Jones. It's very disappointing not to give them the experience competing there. not seeing the need for the change.
I'm sure I will get slack for this, but seriously UCA, way to diminish levels 2 & 3 by not having them compete in the field house! I get the focus of this board is geared to Level 5, but this isn't Worlds. All these athletes have worked & more importantly PAID the same for this comp, yet you...
^ I believe that is exactly what is trying to be accomplished. Sometimes in order for change to occur, you have to be willing to have those "uncomfortable" conversations. I for one have the upmost respect for the CEA organization and admire the accomplishments of the program. And although they...
As a parent of an athlete whose team placed just after the first & second place teams that dropped 2 & 1 levels respectively in our division at NCA, I am more than happy to see this thread and the other staying active! I appreciate the efforts of all those who are diligently working on coming up...
First time at NCA and I have to say the arena was AMAZING!!! As a spectator/parent I was blown away and enjoyed it almost as much as being in the milk house for worlds!!! However, As much as I understand the privilege earned by level 5 athletes to compete in this special kind of atmosphere and...
My cp has the medronic pump also, but uses a different site. She uses the quickset. Would you know what the difference is between yours ( mio) & the quickset? I ask because I don't believe the quickset comes in colors ;)
In the awards ceremony I was referencing, it wasn't the winners that were the issue. By the time the winner of the last division was announced the only teams left on the stage where the top 3 teams in that division. When the winning team went to get their banner & take pictures they were blocked...
I agree with those who feel that cheersport does a great job producing this event. Running an on time event with over 900 teams is commendable and I felt the whole experience was positive for both athlete & spectator. My only feedback in regards to improvement would be:
1). Location of awards -...
