Haven't been on here in a while but all 4 of my daughters have attended/are attending/ or will be attending Azusa Pacific :)
Azusa has a policy that you can either receive a merit scholarship or an athletic scholarship. The merit scholarships were always more than the athletic. So I would go to...
How is everyone's daughter liking Acro? My daughter is graduating early so this will be her last season. My next one won't start until 2016, so I have a year off. Are any of you going to Nationals in WV? We live in Pittsburgh and I can go on Thursday night and Friday morning and then I leave for...
She will love it! My daughter goes to Azusa but we live in Pittsburgh. Keeping fingers crossed for Azusa to come to this part of the country for a meet next season.
Brooke goes to school with several of the Diamonds, my daughters included. She actually tried out a couple of years ago but was still contracted to the show. As far as I know she has no interest in any kind of cheerleading.
@tripmom @NoOneSpecial @Mo-Lissa Thank you so much! They were beyond excited and proud of themselves. I went to HPU to watch the meet when APU was there. It was so much fun, of course it's Hawaii so how could it not be. I love that instead of fists the HPU girls do the "hang loose" sign in...
What team did she sign with? My oldest cp was on the Azusa Pacific team as a freshman when it started as Stunts and Tumbling. She decided not to continue her sophomore year. My 2nd cp is now in her sophomore year and loves it! In the 2 years that I didn't have a cp doing acro they really...
Tomorrow night at 6:30 you can watch the Cougars (ranked #2) take on the Ducks (ranked # 1)! It costs $7.95 to watch live on the Azusa Pacific website.
If you want to see what this sport is all about you can watch Oregon host Azusa Pacific and Quinnipiac on Monday night in a trimeet. All 3 teams are undefeated this season. You can watch at 7 PST on a live feed from Oregon's website. Go to goducks.com and click on the live feed. This should be a...
If you have any kids interested in Acro and Tumbling the order would be:
1 Oregon
2 Quinnipiac in CT
3 Azusa Pacific in CA
4 Baylor in TX
5 Fairmont in WV
Next year there will be 10 schools including HPU, which certainly would have been in the top 25 for traditional cheer.
It's an NCAA sport so you are signed by the school to participate. Once you sign you agree to abide by NCAA rules until your season is over. For A and T that would be the end of April. And yes for some girls this would mean a scholarship, too.
For the 2013-2014 season there will be 8 schools. Azusa Pacific, CA, Baylor, TX, Quinnipiac, CT, Oregon, Fairmont, WV. The 3 new schools are Alderson-Broaddus, WV, Kings College, TN, and Hawaii Pacific. Nationals will be at Azusa Pacific next year.
