    All-Star Where's The Loyalty?

Loyalty in the cheer world is almost always a one way street and that street is for the benefit of the gym owner. There are a lot of people who feel like athletes (and their parent' money) should stay at a gym even if it is not in their best interests to do so. Why don't we demand the same...

    All-Star Cea Chicago

As I understand it most coaches in Illinois earn a modest monthly salary thst is paid every two weeks. After thst, coaches can supplement their salary by giving private lessons and classes, which are paid by the parents. There are variations of this, but I think that is how it is done at a...

    All-Star Cea Chicago

As of now, the permanent location for CEA has not been announced. As I understand it they are looking for a place central to the Western suburbs, and affordable. Temporarily they are using space at another gym. Not to stick it to Ice, but because that is what is available to them with not...

Ice allows athletes to train at other gyms. In fact most ice athletes who take privates take them from coaches at other gyms. There is really only 1 coach who can teach tumbling and he doesn't have a lot of time for privates. He is also kind of intense and not a good fit for a lot of kids...

    All-Star Cea Chicago

We will finish out the season at Ice and then look elsewhere. We will probably go to either GTIL or possibly CEA, depending on what level teams they have next season. I should say that we haven't had a bad year, just not a very good one. In my opinion the quality of coaching has gone down...

I couldn't agree with you more! Teaching your daughter to be loyal for the sake of loyalty, and to be committed to something or someone who isn't as committed to her, doesn't teach value. It teaches her that she isn't valued. It teaches her to accept less than she gives in relationships. If...

I'm a parent of an athlete at Ice. She was not on either of Kaley's teams. We have been there for a couple of years. Although this will be our last year, we will be staying to finish the season. The only people who really left are those people on Kaley's teams. They only stayed at Ice after...

Kaley was going to leave with some of the coaches who went to GTIL last year, but after lots of promises from Darlene did not. While all of the other Ice coaches signed a noncompete, Kaley did not. She regretted staying at Ice within a couple months and started talking to CSP about some kind of...

All-Star Gymtyme Opens In Lockport Illinois

We have two kids who have cheered at Ice for 4 years. For reasons that don't need to be hashed out here, we decided to look at Gym Tyme as an alternative to Ice. My one daughter who is still cheering fell in love with Gym Tyme. The facility is BEAUTIFUL and the coaches were so enthusiastic...

    All Newbies - PLEASE READ!

I just signed up so I could complain about coaches and gyms that act like they are providing some life-saving charitable service and treat parents with disdain instead of paying customers... but I guess I will just say hi in the newbie forum.
