OT Keeping Us All In The Loop

No one connected to cheer is going to buy this. Its valued at $2.5 billion! Or they are going to chop the company up into small bits and sell off the parts? I don't see this as going well for the cheer industry.

College How To Get Started In Stunt

Thanks, you pretty much answered my question that it does not exist pre-high school. I do know a high school coach so I will start there. Thank you!

College How To Get Started In Stunt

My CP, age 11, wants to get started in STUNT. She does All Star, but would like to do STUNT in addition. Is this even possible? Are there competitions for STUNT prior to high school? Where/how would one train for this. This would be in Northern California. Any input would much appreciated.

How Far Is Too Far To Drive???

1.5 is the longest I would consider. Anything more would be too much wear and tear on the athlete, family, school. Just my opinion. Everyone has their own standards so I do my best not to judge others’ choices.

    All-Star Strict Coaching

Many All Star coaches are untrained and unsophisticated. I knew a gym where the head coach yells at kids and demands respect. As in, saying “don’t disrespect me” when athletes ask questions or disagree.

Tips For A New Cheer Coach

Coach through love and compassion. Never stop learning. To teach you have to be teachable; to coach you have to be coachable. Lead by example not by lecturing or condemning. Get to know your athletes but don't play favorites. Focus on the positive; compliment your athletes and see them smile...

    All-Star Advice On Slacking Cp

Could just be a phase... maybe a temporary feeling based on some other stressors? I would not react too quickly, it could pass. Find out if there are issues stressing CP. My CP loves Cheer but is no longer having fun at Cheer because of one teammate putting CP down. When that other child is...

All-Star It's Happening All Over; Not Just In Cheerleading

This is a current and relevant topic, especially in light of the fact that it's so prevalent in all youth sports, it's catching the media's attention! We need to be discussing this now!

All-Star It's Happening All Over; Not Just In Cheerleading

Heavy travel (planes and hotels) for a youth sport is ridiculous. I have finally realized that All-Star Cheer is a cult, I drank the kool-aid, and now I'm in recovery mode. CP still loves it so we found a gym with less travel and costs in general and are much happier. It's easy to get caught up...

All-Star Industry Photographer Arrested For Child Indecency

This is a very interesting comment. I have only done All Start Cheer as a sport with my CP so I don't know about other youth sports. Does this happen in other youth sports? Are softball players, swimmers, gymnasts etc. getting professional modeling photo sessions done, being ambassadors for...

All-Star End Of The Season: How To Exit And Leave Your Gym Gracefully

I agree, it is hard to part with people with whom you and your CP have had a good relationship, even if overall it is time to move on! Great article!

All-Star End Of The Season: How To Exit And Leave Your Gym Gracefully

I hear you that the lack of a break makes it a bit different. The article recommended that you should tell the coaches/owner in person, but my point is that this is not always the right path. Depending on the sophistication of the owner/coach this can backfire and sometimes it's better and...

All-Star End Of The Season: How To Exit And Leave Your Gym Gracefully

Very good article. I agree with a lot of these points. My only addition, is that Cheer is a business. Families pay a lot for a service. At the end of the year if a family wants to leave; just go. There is no need to tell the owners or coaches. I have seen this back-fire because the...
