Sounds like we are in the same state. Ours schools cannot require masks, we had option of virtual, in person, or virtual + UIL (in person). This year it’s mainly all in person or all virtual (but w/ limited options). So majority will be in person.
My daughter goes to a 6A school. No masks or...
Multiple tries would absolutely change the dynamics and shouldn’t be considered. Virtual live stream presents a lot of technical issues. Live proctor could help prevent some cheating and ensure one 1 run but that also requires trust in the system. How would anyone know if a gym was given...
I understand that traditional comps maybe impossible but the more I think about it I don’t feel that virtual will work. I agree it’s not practical or fair. I haven’t heard a option that even sounds like a viable option. Then factor things like cheating (illegal crossovers, whatever else). That...
How is everyone’s gym handling fees if comps are virtual or cancelled? Will tuition be reduced?
At our gym tuition is all inclusive. I’m ok with paying for a training only season or if most comps are virtual. Spending $4k is a lot, with the economy the way it is. I’m not sure it’s worth it...
UIL and our district at least has also given ok to start stunting. Football (I’m not entirely sure on the rules) is allowed one to one contact.
I actually feel that we should (at least in most large cities) be scaling back, even moving towards lock down. I think most hospitals will be...
I read short article about this also and I thought he was insane to call it a cure. It said he’s treated a dozen patients with it. He was quoted as saying that a patient tested neg for Covid twice after taking it and that’s why it’s a cure.
I’ve had budesonide several times in conjunction with...
I haven’t consented to letting my child do anything involving direct contact. But I don’t think anyone is adamant about stunting being “perfectly safe” with a mask, just if they are going to do it it’s foolish and irresponsible not wear one. It’s about using every option available to prevent spread.
This makes me furious
Alabama college students are throwing 'COVID parties' where they invite infected people and gamble on who gets sick first, officials say
anyone have any info on this type of mask? I’m a little worried about the bottom right pic of air coming out. Doesn’t that defeat purpose of wearing a mask?
Sorry if this is wrong place for my post. I wasn’t sure if is appropriate here or if I should start a new thread.
Edit: pic didn’t show...
Actually states do have the power to make a vaccine mandatory in an epidemic or threats to public health. The Supreme Court has already upheld it is not a violation of the 14th amendment.
I think the transparency is great. It was something that was inevitable within youth sports in general and for any gym, large or small. It also gives everyone a chance to improve on policies that involve public health collectively.
I don’t know what the right answer is. I do feel like we can’t...
How is cooperation in Sweden though? I’ve read that one of the reasons why Sweden has not had to mandate lockdowns and shutdowns is because most people follow recommendations. Is that accurate?

I hate being that parent. Most of my mom group consented because they didn’t want their kid left out. I don’t know what the right answer is. We are in Texas and I agree with very little that our governor does.
As far as cheer goes...I don’t know what I want to happen, but what I...
There’s a parent meeting today and I plan on asking them about it. It does make me wonder how trust them regarding other policies etc. My daughter loves her gym but I this concerns me. It’s a slippery slope because even before covid-19 we all know athletes push it beyond what they should many...
I was happy with our gym. They sent out policy that you have to opt in & consent to hands on or stunting. If you aren’t ready for direct contact it said don’t opt in. I didn’t sign consent because I want to see how policies work & because my daughter is about to visit 80 year old grandmother she...
