You stole my term I saw! ASCheerMan - A snow plow parent is a parent that "plows" all the obstacles out of the way of their child/ren so they have an easier, clearer path in life. Perfect name, huh? I. Love. It.
But CT Love isn't out of the VA gym, it is out of the PA gym, which has been around for like 15 years. I'm not dissing this team or saying it's a new division for them (at least in several years), but that's like saying Rays Peach is a new gym just because they are fielding a large senior team...
Cheer Tyme is not a first year gym. Just sayin. They have been around for a REALLY long time. New division for them, yes, at least in a long while. But they are not some new gym taking on the beast that is Large Senior AG, they are quite an established gym.
How does a different percentage make the final placements "right"? I would think 50/50 would promote consistency because you really need to hit both days to do well. Isn't that important in this sport?

So is NCA now too big? They are bigger than Cheersport (at least on paper as of now) They need tons of judges. I am not saying quality of judges vary from panel to panel, arena to arena, event to event. But your issue seems to be that it's too BIG. Jamfest Supers are pretty large...
NCA is just as big (maybe even bigger this year) as Cheersport. And their scoring is on the Varsity scoresheet now, so I'm not sure what the discrepancy is. I kind of like the 50/50 because it demands consistency to some extent rather than day 1 being a "warm up" performance and then day 2...
I am guessing it is for the helpers that are out on the floor with them. The "crossover" designation probably is for scheduling purposes so that it is known that they compete on whatever team it says they cross to. Avoids them not being able to be out there with the Special Needs team that...
I feel this is one of those rules that seems out of progression due to OTHER rules preceding it in the level, or whatever. According to the rules, as written, it would appear that the correct explanation is icheer8796 says. It is legal if you release but are braced on both sides (arm-to-arm)...
Well....she IS only 8. Kids have their ups and downs in this sport for whatever reason. It happens to the best of them. I would NOT talk about it, not pressure her, not offer her incentives, nothing. Just let her continue to cheer and see if she and her coaches can work it out. An 8 year old...
I would just call them. They are usually very welcoming to visitors at anytime. I know that they loan out space Friday to other gyms for practice time, so you might get to see some really great teams AND some Stingray teams. But I would just give them a call to see about specifics.
I don't disagree. There are many companies that have video verification, etc. And I agree that it is frustrating when something is missed. I am just saying that nothing will get rid of that human error entirely. That was my only point. Fining people, yelling at people, whatever, they are...
There are quite a bit more restrictions than are listed here. Way more than no standing fulls and no running doubles. There are more limitations on tumbling, limitations on baskets, limitations on pyramid transitions. Quite a bit different than level 5 in most of the areas of cheer. Just...
newcheerdad: Safety judges are separate from difficulty/panel judges. They are also not certified by EPs, they are certified through the USASF, and are re-certified each year (if they pass the test). What I think part of the problem is that EPs all use different scoresheets (not ALL, but i...
