This will depend on the event producer. In @SparkleSpankies example The Epic Brands requires that you choose. However smaller event producers, IEPs, may not have as strict a requirement.

Hi @Hayley , I would recommend evaluating your prerequisite progression skills. Often times the reason that advance skills are difficult to get on the floor is because the foundation is not set. Consider reviewing your (1) round off, (2) back handspring, and (3) layout.
As a high school coach that usually has all-star cheerleaders I recommend working on your voice projection. High School cheer requires your fans, even the ones sitting on the other side of the field to hear you. In all star their isn't a cheer but HS requires it. How can the fans join in if they...

Hi @NewbieG14 , would you mind posting a video? It is hard to provide feedback on just a description however I think the solution to meeting your coaches expectations of pushing off might be to have the bases catch your legs lower. This way your arms can maintain contact with your bases...

I would also recommend that you check out some past competitions for the event producer that you plan to attend competitions with. In some cases judges only want to see 2 to 4 - 8 counts of cheer, more of a change, while others want to experience a sideline cheer.
