A month into my last semester, I got a job offer for a neuro trauma ICU new graduate nurse position.
And I got an A- on the first exam for my hardest class.
I am so proud of myself, and feel so accomplished
I only have one semester standing between me and being a real nurse. And this summer I'm taking a minimester, 3 week course about critical care nursing and get to have an ICU clinical rotation with it, I am so excited!
has anyone done the whole 30 diet before and have some great recipes, preferably easy or quick? my roommate and I started, and are on day 9 and looking for some new meal ideas!
or even any great paleo meals!
I haven't been on here in a while, I finished another semester of nursing school (yay one year until I graduate college!!!), turned 21 and am now home enjoying my freedom of winter break while I can!
I'm going on my first cruise in March for my spring break, the ports are Cozumel, Mexico...
as crazy as the cheer world is getting these days, I still miss it a tremendous amount. it's been three years since I last competed, but am still interested in coaching. is it worth a shot or have I been out of the game too long to be considered an asset to a gym?
I finished finals a lit over a week ago, and thankfully passed all my classes.
My awful roommate moved out a week ago, and life is now great.
I'm going to Florence and the Machine concert tonight, and I'm so excited!!
amidst the stress/chaos of studying for my first round of nursing school exams (three down, two to go!!), we also had to get our grades from our clinical today. I have to say I had such a great clinical experience--from my classmates in my group (some of my closest friends now) and a wonderful...
yesterday, I had my white coat ceremony for nursing school which signifies the beginning of our clinical experience. aka, I have my first clinical on thursday. aka it's the first day actually working in the hospital with a nurse preceptor and performing patient care!! so excited and nervous!
yeah I know that for both California (where i'm actually from) and Texas (where I go to school) there are relatively strict restrictions in terms of GPA and entrance exams for being accepted into nursing programs. For Baylor specifically, it's a 3.0 GPA and above 80 on the english and math...
no problem!! I went to Baylor in Waco for two years, and then applied for the Baylor nursing program which is actually in Dallas and thankfully got in. but that's the only nursing school I applied to.
was it the HESI A2 entrance exam? I did pretty well on the math portion and would be more...
best of luck applying to nursing school!! it's incredibly grueling, but so so worth it! feel free to pm me if there's anything you need help with! (don't know how much help my 2 years of prereqs + 8 weeks of legitimate nursing school can be, but I can try!) since I see you're in the Texas area...
I filed my taxes for the first time today, so now I feel like a real, legitimate adult.
Also, I'm on spring break and it has been so nice to just take a step back and relax for just a little bit after a hectic 8 weeks of nursing school.
one of my lab instructors (where we actually learn all of our hands on nursing skills) that intimidates the heck out of me and is very particular with the way things are done told me that I have "great technique for giving injections" and that i'm doing extremely well. my day was completely made.
for how much I struggled with my grades in all my pre req classes and even just getting accepted into nursing school, I'm kinda kicking butt at it...so far for my first exam (two more first exams in the next two weeks though) I've gotten an A-, B+, and a B.
