Favorite show ever!
As for Hodor, imagine him going through the next 30 years or so knowing how he was going to die? That his main purpose was to save Bran! It explains why he was protective of him from birth.
It's been said that Azor Ahai will be three. Jon and D are pretty good contenders...
As a jump off from your #2, I've been away from this sport for years now so please correct me if I'm wrong - but wasn't Champions League an "alliance of gyms" as well? They all wanted a "best of the best" competition outside of Varsity? But now the same gyms are walking away from the competition...
I mentioned this before but never got a response back. I was told that originally LAG and LCO were separated for this year. One in the morning and one in the evening but both in the stadium. Then coaches complained about one division being preferred over the other. I have no idea if this is...
I've never had a child at that level in cheer but I have faced things like this in the past. I feel the industry as a whole needs to make it okay to say "No, I'm (my child, my athlete is) not competing". Either the parent comes down and says no the coach refuses for the team to perform, or best...
Just thought I'd add that I really liked this part of the post. Ultimately USASF has to fix this but I agree that the industry as a whole has allowed this type of issue to continue. We've heard multiple reports of people (kids, coaches, officials, parents) knowing the problems before competing...
Certainly the majority of this needs to be fixed by the USASF and for anyone that knows me it's a big deal for me to say that. However that being said, there's also an underlying culture here of distrust going many different ways.
There were gyms that actively tried to overthrow the USASF (not...
This is a big topic around Charlotte right now. I've had to explain multiple times over the last day or so what "this cheerleading thing" is to people that have been complaining about the parking situation to come on Sunday.
I always like the community service that has the kids actually doing something as opposed to parents buying things that will be donated. Ex CP did (and still does) a lot of community service and the playing bingo at the retirement home or making dinner for Room In The Inn guests are the ones she...
@TraumaRNcheermom Just a suggestion - when reading an old (and much discussed) thread it's best to read all posts before commenting. Typically many points have already been made - and made - and made.
Everything that @cheermeup said! We were always told that if there was ever a headache when following the concussion protocol then you go back to the previous step. Each stage has to be done headache free. What's frustrating about concussions is you don't see the injury but they take just as...
Very true. Lots of conflicting reports on these for all sports. We are fortunate that one of the leading sports concussion doctors in the nation practices here in Charlotte. We asked him about helmets (for soccer but same concept). His comment "it can't hurt but more importantly I'd rather her...
Daughter has had 4 concussions - Go to a concussion specialist! Search sports injuries/concussions. They will get you in ASAP. Don't waste time with doctors that don't specialize in this. We learned the hard way.
@gofriars610 I actually agree with your overall point so am not arguing with you but wanted to add that based on what I was told there's a lot of money given out there to kids to encourage them to come for sports that's not labeled a "sports scholarship" or at least let me say that's what one...
Doing any sport for the scholarship is silly because in almost all cases the money spent playing youth sports would have been equal to or greater than the college costs anyway. However I will also say that sports scholarships are more widely available then everyone is being led to believe BUT...
Many of my friends and I discuss this often as most of us are out of cheer from either switching to other sports or aging out.
First I always say the unpopular opinion that much of this cost is our (the parents) fault. Eight to ten years ago a uniform, 2 t-shirts and 2 soffe shorts, a bow, and...
Thought about you this past Saturday. Took former CP to the open house Saturday and she really enjoyed it. She's a junior so we have some time but she wants to have all her schools figured out by the summer. She mentioned not hearing a lot about Greek life and I told her that I bet a poster from...
