I’m so glad you still see it in a positive way! I cheered my whole life but that was prior to this whole competitive world. I love that she loves it and it helps to hear from people like you that have lived it from different sides and loved it. I will definitely post an update. You’ve been great :)
Thank u for taking the time to talk and I appreciate your advice! These things are certainly not easy to get through alone... I hope you get some relief . Sounds like you’ve had some rough times I’m so sorry xo
Thank you so much! That’s great advice. I wish I could share pics here. My daughter is still conditioning and doing her needle stretch on the floor (in a split) with one arm. She continues wall sits, leg lifts and anything else she can without her arm. She’s really something else for a young...
Thank u for sharing your story and I’m so sorry you had to go through that. He is a sports medicine pediatric orthopedic that has been extremely responsive and calls to answer any/all my questions as often as I have them. He has been great with her in that sense. His daughter also broke her arm...
Oh my God! No not what I wanted to hear. Do you know what may have gone wrong? Was she not going for follow up visits or was it same story where doctor said it would straighten out on it’s own? Our doctor has been in business over 20 years specializing in kids sports medicine but this is a huge...
Update and need a little reassurance!
My daughter broke her forearm learning a back handspring. She’s 8 yrs old. Her long cast came off this week and she was put into short cast for two more weeks. (Total 8 was). Doctor said she will wear a brace for four weeks after this. When we saw her arm...
Update and need a little reassurance!
My daughters long cast came off this week and she was put into short cast for two more weeks. (Total 8 was). Doctor said she will wear a brace for four weeks after this. When we saw her arm it still had a little deformity which we expected I guess because...
First.. thank u for sharing your story with me and being responsive!! I’ve never been through this or broke anything so I really have no idea what to expect. I can’t believe how legnthy of a healing process it seems to be. I’m so paranoid she will re break it too... I’m so sorry you had to...
We have about a week and a few days left of the cast and then she will be wearing a brace. We decided not to allow her to participate in summit since it was less than two weeks out of the cast (even if it wasn’t involving tumbling or major stunts). It’s just too risky for RE break in my opinion...
I’m glad to hear she is doing well. Im sure it has been quite a journey. I’m glad she didn’t give up. You have a go getter on your hands! This has been very helpful..
I’m so sorry to hear this! It’s also my biggest fear (re break). How long did the soreness last? And how long before she was able to resume “normal” activities comfortably? I think I will keep her out of cheer over the summer. August will be about 5 months since the incident (not sure that’s...
Hi
I’m a new mom to the competitive cheer world. My daughter is 8yrs old, she’s a flyer and this is her first year on a competitive team. She broke/dislocated her forearm about 3 was ago during a private lesson attempting a back handspring on the wedge mat. I’ve been devastated for her ever...
