Running Tumble A1 states that "back flips" can only be in tuck position from RO or ROBHS. Exceptions are 3/4 fronts, punches or cartwheel aerials.
Since we know running tumbling from a safety perspective is anything forward, it would be the same as them standing still and doing a 3/4. Which is...
Progression, take it slow. If your comfortable with prep-level things start working that.
Practice on the ground and get confident before you go to the group.
Stunt Level Skill Progession example:
2 Leg| Dismount: Sponge/Squish/Smoosh
2 Leg | Dismount: Cradle.
1 Leg Liberty | Dismount...
I agree with Frank. A video would be monumentally helpful for additional advice or more detail.
Are you landing on your knees?
Are you completing the rotation?
Are you being spotted through the skill?
Completely legal as is. From a Safety perspective, going forward is running tumbling and backwards is standing tumbling. So you changed direction from standing to running in the step-out. Legal.
Legal IMO, caution that in level 2 it might be scored as poor tumbling. That video was of a 5 and it's clear that it was intentional, so it's thought of as creative. Make sense?
Thats close, we are doing it from extension. And there are 3 spotters, but we are having the top person "Wrap" one spotter on the way down. Still working on getting the video...
Wow, that's cool! But not exactly what we are doing. That was from a shoulder sit. Our's is from a Entension (Full whatever) to the ground. I would be curious is Andre or someone had a know legal cartwheel roll off that I could watch.
From an extension, can we cartwheel to the floor? Is this a cartwheel roll off. The top person is wrapping a base on the floor like in a double cartwheel and flipping to the floor. Is this legal in this manner?
Abduction and Adduction stretched on your hip flexors. Grab a Thera-band or Rubber Band and make a loop. Put it on both feet and side step (nice big, slow steps) leading with your left across the floor and then back with your right foot leading, 2 sets. You will feel this Abduction workout...
Just wondering how you all teach kick fulls and any good advice. I have seen groups face back, quarter turn, then toss from side. Wonder if this has any advantages. I usually start facing the side. Thanks!
Anything core related will help with not only BHS but everything in tumbling. Planks are great (mentioned above) side planks, hollow body holds (on back) roll to superman holds (on stomach) are good. Mountain Climbers, stomach crunches and bridges increase flexibility and ease of BHS.
I try my hardest. emphasize "Try" to follow the 3 rule, you get 3 attempts and then we go back and strengthen another skill. If you struggle with a tuck.. we go back to BHS hollow body rebounds reaching to the sky. We also focus on muscle memory and drilling body positions. You have to be...
