I'm personally aware of an 8 year old girl that developed an eating disorder. It wasn't discovered/treated for several years because it was never even thought of as a possibility due to her age... if anything strikes you as a concern at all, no matter their age, give it serious attention.

The closest program I know is a pretty new gym in Rockville called Shockwave Allstars - close to Chevy Chase though traffic can get rough. There are some gyms on the other side of D.C. in Northern VA but I'm not very familiar with that area.
Marlins & Twisters are only about 10 miles apart.
When my CP cut her hair to her shoulders I managed to make it a longer spiral by curling from the top and pulling it down/off the barrel as I curled towards the bottom. When it was longer I could wrap it all on the barrel at one time starting from the bottom.
My CPs do hair at home so bows are in their head the entire time. For out of town comps I put them in an oversize Tupperware container that fits in the gym bag.
The Twister bow is pretty heavy! Pull the pony tail holder down as far as you can towards the bottom of the bow then make sure you wrap it into her half-up going between her scalp and the pony tail holder used in her half-up. Pull it as tight as possible. Also, the further "straight up" you can...
Yes, we did the pony tail (spray well and smooth down - will help it stay overnight) and bow before curlers. Then I put a curl cover over everything and she went to bed. There was no way a bow was going over those curls well enough to stay in.
I'd go with the small blue sponge rollers. Spray entire strand with some freeze hairspray or gel then use end wraps to help hold the hair on the roller and roll away!
It depends on the number of teams at the competition. My CP is on Senior Restricted 5. We've been lumped together with all 4 categories at some, but other comps have been broken out by just large & small, or just co-ed and all girl. NCA and Indy divided by all 4 because they have enough teams to...
We never took my CP's medic alert bracelet off, just taped it down. The competitions can get really hectic and that's one less thing for me to worry about or keep track of. Plus it had a lobster claw clasp which was almost impossible to remove.
The way it worked last year is that you went into one small room and did a pyramid and stunt sequence just to counts, then went into the other hall for your full routine.
Two years ago it was two full routines 30 minutes apart, and that really wiped out the girls.
Crimson Heat looked phenomenal as ever. I always enjoy watching them, though I could do without the band after a long day! The announcer said the best program was determined by the top 3 scores of the gyms. Quick calculation had top 3 twisters at 279.86 and heat at 274.96. It seems like for...
