One of the biggest culture shocks of college is how much it costs to uh… literally stay alive. From basic food and bills to a social life and the cost of textbooks, suddenly the budget you thought could stretch isn’t looking quite so flexible. Here are some tips to make...
Why should the benefits of organized sports be limited to the intelligent or wealthy?
Are smarter people better at playing sports? Are Trade School students less capable?
Are students in Trade School too busy for sports than University students?

I have an early college student this year who has cheer experience. She is taking enough college classes to be eligible for the CC team, has been admitted to a degree program and has an extremely solid academic transcript. The team is mostly sideline, but does a few regional competitions in a...
Recently college cheer basket safety rules came under serious revisions allowing All-Girl groups to be able to toss non-twisting baskets while allowing all-boy groups to toss up to ONLY single twisting basket variations, meaning skills such as arabian 1/2, pike open dubs, and simple double...
Hi!
I am new to the forum and have decided to try out for my college cheer team. The college is a very small, rural community college which is rebranding (as in dropped the "community" from the college name, changed the school colors and added basketball and cheer last fall).
The cheer team...
Starting this season baskets in college that involve flipping will only be allowed to twist if they’re being thrown by men. Three men to be exact, two male bases and one male back spot. A lot of the women I used to cheer with are obviously very angry about this.

I’m really hoping to cheer in college, but I’m terrible at tryouts. I want to go to a school where I can cheer, but where there isn’t a ton of crazy tryout requirements or competition. Does anyone know if there any schools where it’s easier to become a cheerleader?

Powersports in College Station will be having open workouts May 17th and May 24th from 7:30-9:00pm for their new International All Girl Level 5 team!!! If you are going to Texas A&M or Blinn and want to do All Star Cheer check it out!
CP has realized she will have 2 seasons of super senior eligibility when she graduates. She would likely be looking for a mid-level team (senior 3, 4.2, maybe 4) at best (working level 2 skills now, as a rising sophomore), and doesn’t expect to make a college competitive team. So, as we start...
I’m not very familiar with college cheer (I’m an All Star athlete ) and I was curious on the different difficulty levels colleges have in cheer. As well as the difference between competition styles I’ve been seeing, for example :
•UK routines contain more stunts compared to tumbling along with a...

As the New Year approaches, there are likely a lot of things on your mind: the holidays, winter break, your personal goals for 2017… and college applications. For many schools, the regular decision application deadline is January 1, and plenty more follow soon after. That...
If you live in the midwest and looking for a college with a cheerleading program then reach out to DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois! They have a cheerleading squad that attends NCA Summer Camp in Louisville KY, performs at basketball games during the fall & winter and competes at NCA...
What are the list of college and/or high school courses you should take if you want to own a cheer gym? I'm currently in 10th grade and hoping to go to college. After college I'm planning on coaching and later owning a gym.
I thought I'd start a new thread on this since the other post are old. Any advice when visiting College Cheer Clinics? Also, is there a site that has an updated list of Clinics?
Thanks
