I guess the reduction in # of AL bids worked out because usually only a few teams leave NCA without an at large and there are 20 in small senior alone (around 50 total) vying for the 16 at large bids they have to give. I was thinking the same thing in regards to bids. A couple years ago there were I think 4 at-large bids left over that weren't given out because everyone already had one. I count 48 teams without any bid and 117 going for paids, huge difference.
Is the 117 including the 48 or without it? There are a few teams that probably don't accept at large (I'm assuming that's why steel has none, for example). But I love that they won't have bids left over and only 1/3 of the no bid teams will get one - makes worlds more of an accomplishment if bids are harder to come by! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's including, yea I know there are a few teams that have declined at-larges so far this year and some of those might get paid, but I am loving that it's harder to get bids this year.
