    I agree with this but I don’t.

I love a white uni. They pop against the mat and look expensive (fun fact: in fashion, white clothing is seen as expensive and lux because the implication is if you’re wearing white — a color that can and does show dirt easily — you can afford to replace it).

That said, I will say that Panthers shorts bother me because the fabric is thin and shiny and aggressively hints at crack. 12 y/o crack. They might as well be cheering in dripping wet bikini bottoms. Meanwhile the SE skirts are clearly made of a more durable fabric that keeps everyone covered.

THAT said, I’m not sure dressing kids in white leos “infantalizes” them or strips them of their identity. I don’t think the creeps are thinking in those cerebral terms. I think they’re just looking for the easiest way to exploit a kid, and white uni — if not done correctly — is the best way to do that.

My eyes couldn't adjust to the fine print on what @Nikaa posted, however, my photographer niece warns kids and parents alike of posting pictures in thin nude or white colored clothing. Her warning has nothing to do with the psychological impact of those colors, but has everything to do with the capabilities of removing clothing via today's technology and those colors being the easiest.

Whelp, stumbling across this conversation the night after seeing Top Gun's new program uniforms (which are white) was unfortunate timing.

Reading this after our niece just ordered a WHITE-ish dance costume. Yikes.

Will the program uniform be the same across all locations again? I love Top Gun in white and the cohesiveness across all locations.

Yes it's for all programs regardless of location, the program as a whole is going white for all lower level teams. Upper levels will all get individualized ones (all the ones I've seen so far were black), and all of the Open 4 teams will also be wearing one style of uniforms as well (the ones O4 currently wears). As far as I'm aware, as long as Top Gun locations exist, they will all have the same program wide uniforms, with each location getting one program wide practice wear and one location specific practice wear. Kristin and Victor are really big on the cohesiveness from what I've seen.

I'm trying to be delicate with this. I'd be more concerned about white uniforms (bottoms especially) from a more practical perspective. There are many young ladies this age range with irregular monthly cycles or just figuring out things (some start later than others). I would hate a white uniform from this point for unexpected surprises that could become very embarrassing for the poor girl. The stress and chaos of competitions could be prime ground for messy wardrobe malfunctions. In this day of brutality mean anonymous social media accounts, I'd hate to see an athlete get mocked for something beyond their control.

A girl from our gym had her first "visit" in the warmup room at NCA a few years back. Thank goodness those uniforms were black.

Murphy's Law states that when you least expect and are least prepared for Aunt Flo (especially as a teen) - that is when she is going to show up.

I had a freshman on Homecoming Court (I am one of the staff advisors for Homecoming) tap me on the shoulder (literally as I was lining court up to walk out at the football game in the next 8 min) and ask me for a tampon. Good thing I am always prepared!

We put a man on the moon but women are still dealing with this more or less the same way we did since always: guesstimate, then do what you can with the materials available.

30 Rock had a great joke about a pill that allowed you get all of them out of the way for the year in one fell swoop. The catch was when you did get it, you had to sequester yourself for a week because doing anything else was literally impossible.

I coach kids that are middle school to age 18, I ALWAYS have a pack with pads and tampons in my cheer bag, it's come in handy quite a few times.

Intensity Athletics is doing a "Bring it On" theme and has new uniforms to match for their non tumbling 6 - they were the gym that had the half black and half white uniforms last year, really entertaining to watch.
