Maybe in order to keep the gymnast turned cheerleader from tumbling the whole routine to up the team tumbling score they could limit the number of tumbling passes any one athlete performs

That would be hard to control or administer. All those girls look the same from the judges riser. That takes away from the creativity of the routine. I get what you're saying, but that has problems in itself.

I would like to see something done about small flyers being so braced in stunts that they aren't using their own balance to keep them upright. I'm not talking about safety either. I watched a team a few weeks ago with flyers that were all so small it reminded me of girls stunting with American Girl dolls.

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] that should be a technique thing. SHOULD.

Yes! When the flyer is basically sitting on the backspots hand.

I actually have no problem with a specialist tumbler. Hypothetically, I would be happy if my child who just left gymnastics were to find a place to still use her skills. Also, there are people who just base or fly. If you didn't have the score sheet giving credit to most/majority etc. and everyone had to perform every element for scoring, I would imagine the mega gym would usually have a huge advantage.

GIRL. THIS. Thank you. So much.

Especially with the set score. This would stop prelims from looking like a hot mess. There is too much of an obsession with catering to EVERYONE, in part because of a $$$-hungry attitude, and because of a fear of exclusion (moreso the former reason)

And ESPECIALLY with the comparison between cheer and gymnastics. People hate that but clearly they're doing something that we aren't, and it's reflected in the quality of competition. And how do you feel about cheer getting Olympic provisional status, keeping in mind how the sport is going?

Remember, all star cheer will NOT be at the Olympics.

It's easy to follow the safety rules. I think there should be more protocol about teams being in divisions they don't need to be in. For instance having two layouts on level 4 team on a team of 20. Those are the teams that need to be punished. That team could go and have a deduction free routine because they followed all the rules.

Now I'm thinking of that team on Cheerhab. They were level 4 but did terribly at comps. There was one girl with a layout and in retrospect, I feel like that team was created to accommodate her.

I know, it's ICU cheer. But think about where ICU athletes often begin their training, especially in the U.S.? Allstar.

And then there's the rest of the world, where all star isn't really a thing. ;)

In acro gymnastics when you get to a competition they compare the height between the top and base and if the difference is too egregious you get a deduction.
