Also some events have too many Worlds bids than teams .....don’t think that will ever happen for Summit bids.

There have been Summit bid comps that have had more bids than teams in the past. It seems to happen at some smaller one day comps with mostly D2 teams, and there are too many D1 bids. Not common, but it definitely happens.

Yes, perhaps because next year it will be a level by itself as just "level 5"? Some programs like to have a team at every level...

There's been a noticeable decline in the past 5 years or so.

I would be curious to see some numbers around this....

Prediction: Varsity will eventually introduce Tiny/Mini Summit so you can chase bids before you even know how to read.

You mean so your coaches and parents can claim “greatness” on your behalf before you’re able to spell the word.
