Random question - when these events go virtual like this, are y'all getting refunds on these STP hotels?
The high school state championship is this weekend in-person in SC, and schools are having to pull out last minute for covid cases.
I just looked at an SC high school comp video (regional event maybe?) and it very much looked like a pre-2020 comp set up. Are there any modifications to school cheer in SC for covid?
1st of all, whos video? also YES there are tons. You come in, compete, leave. Spectators in masks. Cheerleaders in masks around the venue. don't practice or compete in them, however. Croud sizes=MUCH smaller. The season was cut short. My mom is a coach fi a top cheer program in SC, so if you have any questions, I can answer them for you
We did for WSF because the policy was about a refund until 11/19. We found out before then. However that is not the same for competitions at the GWCC. The policy is confusing so I'm unsure of what's going to happen if this one is cancelled.
I had to dislike this. Allowed does not mean that it is the best decision. I am against bashing, but stricter rules need to be put in place. The virus doesn't disappear between teams. Everyone going is still breathing the same air, touching the same mat. Otherwise, why are we asking people to cough or sneeze in their elbow?
Ugh I didn’t even think of this. When quite a few teams in a row have performed without masks, there could be some virus buildup in the air. Depending on space and ventilation I’m not sure if it’s really enough to infect subsequent teams but it could be possible.
Yes, but this is not our place. At the end of the day, it's the gym's decision. The fact that people are ok with destroying young athletes that work so hard is very upsetting Without rules put in place, we can't get mad at teams for doing what they are. Can we all just celebrate the fact that this season is getting to happen? In a year where things are so uncertain, can we all just respect the work these athletes have put in to do the sport they love again?
shouldnt be put on the teams for choosing to do an option the comp let them have. If were gonna bash anyone it should be the organizers of BUTBT for allowing it....
That is the problem though, it shouldn't be. There should be some baseline, consistent health measures in place and with all we know now wearing a mask is really not too much to ask and enforce. If Varsity can require full tops vs crops they can certainly have a mask policy. And honestly I am so tired of talking about masks, it has been close to a year already.
