Yeah, there's a difference between stunts being too far apart and missing a hand causing an illegal stunt transition and a coach putting in 2-1/2 high splits into a HS routine (I actually had this happen this year with a team I consult with....she had the routine set, I came in to critique and she told me they were having problems with a stunt. They showed me and when I realized what they were setting up for I nearly died and stopped them before they tried getting the top girl up there).

Can I tell you? The coach didn't get why it would be illegal for HS. I put a call in to Jim Lord from my car in the parking lot. He had a nice little chat with the AD there....
