You are referring to Dr. Andrew Wakefield and a court of law in Britain determined that the authors were falsely accused of fraud and the study was in fact factual and was reinstated. He also never stated the vaccine caused autism. His study found that the majority of autism patients had bowel disease and suggested further studies be completed.

Dr. Wakefield has not been reinstated. You might be confusing him with one of his colleagues who was.

Hard to say if it was fraud or not, but it was definitely bad science.

Most kids are vaccinated against mumps as part of MMR. I know, there might be babies and those who can't be vaccinated who have been exposed, I hope everyone is ok!

Without boosters, you can and do lose your immunity over time. And vaccines are by no means 100% effective so even with a vaccine, you can still get the virus you were exposed too. I'd love to know which coach/family decided competing with Mumps was a good idea just so I could smack them.

I hate the vaccines cause autism crapola especially when I have kids who had medically necessary reasons to space and delay. Like hello, my kid HAS autism and she was diagnosed with that before she even had her first vaccine.

There was also exposure at ACA in Fort Worth. I don't now why it wasn't on the news like NCA but we got an FYI at work from the local health department.
I am 100% for delayed vaccines for NICU graduates or spacing them out other babies. I can't get on board with this new fake news idea of vaccines being the devil. They don't cause autism...period and stop. There was one study done by a physician that was eventually forced to rescind his paper and give up his medical license. There is no mercury in vaccines or thermosil. Yes, there are preservatives but don't lecture me about the crap in vaccines while you shove a Big Mac down your throat.
I really hope that whatever kid was sharing their mumps with the group wasn't around any immunocompromised or young babies.

I work in pediatrics and cringe every time I read that a patient isn’t vaccinated. We’ve even had a few NICU parents who have decided against them. I can see delaying them but hello, your preemie is already at a greater risk of being sick and ending up in our PICU how about you help them out a little.

i just dont understand the new found ideas of not wanting to vaccinate kids these days.

Although yeah, vaccines dont always work in general sometimes. Ive got the chicken pox, twice when i was a kid. Yes twice, which is extremely rare with or without a vaccine, and that was before all the hoopla of people not wanting to vaccinate their kids. Flu shots i always found pointless, have had it numerous times both as a kid and an adult and was vaccinated every year while in school.

i still plan on getting my future kids vaccinate regardless when that time comes.

You can thank Jenny McCarthy.

Yep, at some point our society decided to take medical advice from the mouth of a playboy bunny over that of their physician.

Newsflash, they haven’t created vaccines for the diseases of porn stars yet..

Not 100% true. Some of the data in his study WAS fabricated, that the court reversed their decision under pressure doesn't change that, or the impact that his false claims have had on the health of thousands of kids. He did 100% claim that vaccines cause autism and is still doing so today. He was called in recently by an anti-vax group in the midwest to speak to some Somali immigrants about vaccines and autism. He convinced them not to vaccinate, there was an outbreak, and children died.

he was part of the documentary vexed...he was in it for the money..When the lancet medical journal states that the article/study was flawed (which it really never does) and his medical license taken away in two countries (its really hard to take away a doctors lisence) then there are issues with his science.
