sorry if this has been asked before, but with the new levels, would an athlete in a worlds team (sr small coed 6 for example) be able to cross over to a level 4 summit team? I think no, but someone said there was an exception?

I’m interested to know also. Would someone on an open 4 team still be allowed to crossover to worlds or a non tumble team

What about crossing over level 5/6 at NCA? When it was 5R/5 you could cross but wondering if that will change with the changes?

Sooo hoping this isn’t allowed. There had been too much of these type of shenanigans. By upholding the one level rule, it will keep the Worlds athletes off of level 4 at Summit which is a good thing

I don’t think so, unless varsity changes the summit rules for 2020 to allow to cross more than one level.

The gym owner at our gym said that they were told yes a level 6 can cross to level 4 teams.

I’m assuming that it would follow the same rules as years past of only a certain amount of level 6 crossing to level 4. I wondered if they would allow non tumble to cross over to level 5 freely or a limited amount to level 4 bc of the no tumble. This should get interesting

Previously worlds athletes could cross to 4 because 5 was only one level above. However with 6 being the new 5; if they are allowing worlds (level 6) to cross to 4 then the rules will need to be updated and if they are updating the crossover rules I’m curious if it will only apply to 4/5/6 or all levels.

Are crossovers between teams allowed at The Summit?
Athletes will not be allowed to compete on more than 2 cheer teams at The Summit. Athletes can only cross up or down one level at The Summit (EX: Level 2 athlete may only crossover to a Level 1 or Level 3 team). All Level 4.2 athletes may only crossover to levels 2, 3 or 4. Athletes can only cross up or down a level at The Summit. Level 5 athletes that competed at Cheerleading Worlds can only cross to level 4 & 5 Summit divisions (Excludes Level 4.2). No crossovers will be allowed to compete on both a cheer and a dance team at The Summit. However a Cheerleading Worlds athlete may compete at the Dance Summit and a Dance Worlds athlete may compete at The Summit. Reminder that we do not guarantee crossovers at The Summit during the Semi-Finals Round or Finals Round.
Participants may only represent one gym. Participants must pay an additional $100 registration fee for each additional team performance. However, if there is an athlete that is on a Paid bid team and crossing over to another Paid Bid team there will be no crossover fee applied. Only if an athlete is on a Paid Bid team as well as an At-Large bid team will that athlete will be required to pay the crossover fee.
The MAXIMUM number of individuals allowed to crossover from the 2018 Cheerleading Worlds to The Summit will be 5 athletes per team. Level 5 athletes that competed at Cheerleading Worlds can only cross to level 4 & 5 Summit divisions (Excluded: Level 4.2).
Exception: Junior 5 (NOT restricted) will be allowed to have up to 8 crossovers from The Cheerleading Worlds to The Summit.

Well the one level rule only pertains to Summit right? Other competitions can set their own guidelines so long as the athlete does not compete on more than 3 teams total.
Do you know if the question asked and the subsequent response are specific to Summit?

Since the only thing really different between R5 and 5 was the tumble aspect. I could see them using that to make an argument for a non tumble level 6 (previous 5) to be allowed to cross to 4/5 at summit. I’m not sure that it would work and you know some gyms will take complete advantage of this
