A lot of comps only allow one non tumble or global team to get an at large bid. And they aren’t eligible for paid bids at most comps.
That uniform is truly one of my least favorite uniforms I've ever seen. I feel bad just saying that because her smile is SO proud, but no.
I think it's pretty annoying they bent the rules for Ohio State too, but people are gonna protect their cash cow, sadly. Also the reason why Clemson didn't want to play a makeup game against Florida State the week before the ACC title game, so they could "rest", after throwing such a fit that the game got canceled in the first place. Notre Dame actually only joined the ACC for football this year since everyone was going conference only and they wanted to still have a season. But I fully agree the ACC is a crap conference in football. The fact that ND lost to Clemson with that ACC schedule and still got in, when A&M's only loss was to #1 Alabama, and after playing a full SEC schedule is the real ripoff to me. Expand the playoffs or go back to the BCS. Everyone is tired of seeing the same 4 teams and it's getting boring. And as a South Carolina I can say.....we didn't ask for this lol. Everyone pitting it as a South Carolina vs Army thing really bummed me out. We knew we didn't deserve to be there and Army deserved one, but we couldn't help we got invited due to conference tie ins. Gasperilla Bowl was a SEC tie in, so they invited an SEC team. Army is not in that conference. Either way......we pulled out due to Covid exposures within the team and Army got an invite Liberty bowl so everyone will get their wish lol.
It is a great story, but they left out the part where he got hurt and Clemson pulled his scholarship so he had to transfer.
Weird, I did some searches after I watched the movie because I was curious how close the movie version was to his true life story. They all said he graduated from Clemson. “McElrathbey graduated from Clemson in 2008 with an undergraduate degree before transferring to Howard University in Washington, D.C., to earn a communications degree. His football career ended just outside Asheville, N.C., at Mars Hill University in 2010.” A week before its release, former Clemson player talks 'Safety' movie
“eventually graduated from Clemson in 2008 after only three years and went on to take graduate courses at Washington, D.C.'s Howard University. He later played a final year of football at Mars Hill College in North Carolina.” The Real Story of Ray McElrathbey, Who Inspired Movie Safety | PEOPLE.com All my searches aid the same thing. “
To me it looks like his football career was cut short at Clemson, but he still graduated from Clemson. With that said, realize I could be wrong. “Initially redshirted in 2005 for his freshman year, Ray Ray eventually played on special teams the following season, as well as the position of safety. He made his debut in the season opener against Florida Atlantic on September 3, 2006. He played in 12 games and had a total of eight tackles (Forbes). His playing career at Clemson was cut short prior to the 2007 season when he switched to running back and tore his ACL during training camp, which required surgery. Taking care of his younger brother and focusing on his studies became his primary concern. He graduated in three years, earning a sociology degree along with a minor in communications in 2008. Though he was still eligible to play, the Clemson Tigers did not renew his scholarship (Forbes). While he was angry at the time, he has since made peace with it. “ Disney's Safety vs. the True Story of Ray Ray McElrathbey
I just wanna give a piece of advice to future college students. Please don’t ever double major, especially on the pre med track. It will possibly be the death of you and be the cause of an ungodly amount of breakdowns. But don’t get me wrong it is going to be worth it in the end. I just want others to understand and realize it can be a very stressful thing.
Right, he still graduated from Clemson, but they pulled his football scholarship his senior year, meaning he had to pay for school.
Does anyone know where I can find old NHSCC results? I’ve found 2013-2014. Varsity covers back to 2016. I’m having a little trouble finding 2015 (can only find a few PDF’s here). Is there a site that offers this?
