I just saw a video from the 2020 UCA Magnolia competition. I didn't know single braced flips were legal, especially one-handed braced flips. Unless that's where they got the 7 points something deduction? (high school level)
Can someone tell me how these bids are being handed out? Why was the second place team awarded a bid over the first place team in medium NT? Unless they forgot to asterisk it? Or is the qualifying score/process somehow different in NT?
I feel like that too. I remember wanting to see Houston and Live Oak go head to head at UCA last year and then hopes being dashed.
There a video of TGLC up on yt from today...and they look literally so good. 1 fall that I saw in stunts... ok so I will fully admit to being a TGLC stan...so even if they look a mess I would say they're great....and I'm not ashamed of it. HAHA, but anyway, we are still getting a few yt videos from comps, which I was happy to see. I was thinking covid was gonna make that hard, but glad to see some are still going up. EDIT-I cant spell my lord
Single-braced flips are allowed with both the flyer’s/bracer’s hands connected. But I think the one you’re referring to from LOHS actually had the flyer connected to her base’s hand as well, so technically it’s a double-braced flip. That said, there has been some grey area which TBH I don’t understand. Last year I saw a flyer in an elite do a “layout” from a load that landed in a prone position while she was connected with one hand to her base. IDK how this is legal? But since it is, wouldn’t that make the “reverse pancake” also legal? At 2:21:
It just occurred to me that when Rebel tries to do school unis, it’s like Nathan Lane’s drag queen Starina from The Birdcage when he tries to dress like a straight man. Like they try and stay conservative, but it’s obviously not who they are or what they want so at the last minute they just lean into the skid.
in my opinion ohio state shouldnt be in, i get covid, but they missed almost half their games when others played a full schedule. Ive said it once and ill forever say it, the ACC is a crap conference football wise, clemson and notre dame are just lucky every year they play a bunch of basketball schools. Army missing a bowl game when South Carolina gets one, is a F****** JOKE. ive heard multiple reasons why they got one over army, tv contracts being one of them. Which just proves everyone's point about college football turning into a tv monopoly.... the playoffs should be expanded to add two more teams. I mean its better then the two team system they had years ago, but i think it could be better not only for the sport but for tv revenue to add two more teams.
A lot of comps only allow one non tumble or global team to get an at large bid. And they aren’t eligible for paid bids at most comps.
That uniform is truly one of my least favorite uniforms I've ever seen. I feel bad just saying that because her smile is SO proud, but no.
I think it's pretty annoying they bent the rules for Ohio State too, but people are gonna protect their cash cow, sadly. Also the reason why Clemson didn't want to play a makeup game against Florida State the week before the ACC title game, so they could "rest", after throwing such a fit that the game got canceled in the first place. Notre Dame actually only joined the ACC for football this year since everyone was going conference only and they wanted to still have a season. But I fully agree the ACC is a crap conference in football. The fact that ND lost to Clemson with that ACC schedule and still got in, when A&M's only loss was to #1 Alabama, and after playing a full SEC schedule is the real ripoff to me. Expand the playoffs or go back to the BCS. Everyone is tired of seeing the same 4 teams and it's getting boring. And as a South Carolina I can say.....we didn't ask for this lol. Everyone pitting it as a South Carolina vs Army thing really bummed me out. We knew we didn't deserve to be there and Army deserved one, but we couldn't help we got invited due to conference tie ins. Gasperilla Bowl was a SEC tie in, so they invited an SEC team. Army is not in that conference. Either way......we pulled out due to Covid exposures within the team and Army got an invite Liberty bowl so everyone will get their wish lol.
