Hey everyone, I am just writing to ask for some tips and suggestions. I am getting a new GK Uniform that the team I cheer for. I have a really athletic build and I was looking for some tips on how to make the uniform look a little more flattering. Im not a naturally confident person and I feel like to pull off such a uniform you would need to be. Its really tight and form fitting and the skirt is really short. I dont have a flat stomach and my legs are really muscular and white as ghosts and I dont consider them to be very feminine so with me wearing something so tight and short I am kind of getting a little nervous about this and I want to be confident so I am confident on the floor in 3 weeks. If anyone would like a more in depth description if that would help you better you can message me. Otherwise, I hope people can offer some good insight on this. Thank You

I am a GK rep, so hopefully I can give you some guidance. GK's motto is "engineered for cheer" and we are the athlete's preferred choice because of our design and proper fit. Depending on the style of your GK uniform (whether it is a full length top or crop top/skirt or boy shorts), you can always feel comfortable and look great on the performance floor. We offer alterations to many of our designs when added length is necessary and take care of that up front in the production process. Our fabrics are top of the line with a 4-way stretch (meaning extra comfort during movement and while performing). GK’s reputation was built on the perfect fit of its garments. In fact, we have a proprietary fit formula and a full-time, dedicated fit specialist on staff to ensure optimum comfort and performance with each uniform. To assure the best fit, be sure your team is working with one of our experienced Account Managers in the field to assure your team's order is done correctly!

You know what helps me get comp ready? I layer on the tan, I drink plenty of water, eat lots of fruit, carbs, protein, basically as clean and healthy as a I can. I stretch, I do facemasks, I lay out everything I need in my comp bag, pack it, take it all out to double and triple check and then pack it again. I practice doing my hair for the last few training sessions. I take time to read inspirational quotes to keep self doubt at bay. I appreciate my team, my coaches, and myself, knowing that I've worked my hardest to be mat ready. Take a moment to look at yourself in the mirror. Your legs are muscular so you can jump, tumble and stunt, your body is amazing because it can accomplish athletic feats that no ordinary person can, whether you're level 1 or level 5. Your teammates aren't gonna judge you because you may not have the "perfect" body, neither are your coaches, your family or friends. And from what I've experienced, neither are the majority of other cheerleaders. If you are uncomfortable, wear a tshirt over your uni until you get to warmups and by then, your head is going to be all about the routine and not about what you look like. Plus with a short skirt, you won't have to worry about it riding up and turning inside out upside down during tumbling ;) Anyway, the best accessory is a smile, so smile girl like you know you got this routine and you are gonna werrrrrk it!

YES! A tan makes everything better. I feel like spray tans are confidence in a bottle.

At Sally's Beauty Supply, spray gun and tanner comes in a package for around $12. Refills around $9. Called Salon Bronze. We have come to the conclusion that it is easier than tanning salon for spray tan (besides being cheaper.)

You will look beautiful and feel great. I think BowCat's advice was awesome. No one looks at you as hard as you probably do. They look at you and see a talented, athletic young woman. Be kind to yourself. Put up that pony tail and go!
