    Love the top!
I would do without the "cheer express" on the hip, as I feel like the detail gets lost on the floor.

Not to age myself but I mis the days of half up half down curls with a high bow. It works for anyone from people with braids or a sew in to short bobs to long hair and everything in between.

On a related note, I’m glad that in the past 5 years I’ve seen more POC competing with their natural hair texture. I used to feel like they were pressured to change their hair for cheer and I’m glad that’s stopped in recent seasons.

From a parent’s POV anything that requires curls especially when they are younger is a PIA. Half up half down with curls looks pretty in pictures before they compete but is usually a mess during the routine; too much hair flying all over the place.

or for those of us who have pin straight hair. I legit had to sleep in curlers, and recurl my hair before going to warm ups, going through almost a bottle of hairspray at each comp, and it still barely looked curled by the time we finished walking to warm ups let alone taking the floor... i HATED curls.

Or those with a CP that has so much hair it took 2 hours to curl all her hair with a wand. And curlformers did not work. I'm grateful for the fact we wear hair pieces now.

Or trying to curl curly hair was a nightmare. Bought one of those things that suck the hair in to curl and it caught her hair and we had to cut it out. I hope to never have to do curls again.

I really like the look of a curled pony but CP's hair is not curl friendly. Curl formers would sometimes work, sometimes not. This year I got 3/4 inch curling iron and would mousse it and spray each piece after I curled it then spray again when I was done everything. Depending upon how small a strand of hair I used it would either stay curled the whole time or be a wilted mess when she got off the mat. By the end of the season I wasn't in the mood to spend an hour curling it and more often than not it was wilted:oops:

I’m hoping for a straight pony again this year. CP has stick straight, fine hair that does not hold a curl to save it’s life. I do appreciate that cheer only has one hairstyle. We had one year in dance where CP needed half up/half down with curls, curled pigtails, and a bun at different times. Plus different makeup for each dance/costume. It was a pain and a mess.

I get that. My HS competes with a high pony or half up half down and we tell them the hair just needs to be neat and styled. I let them do straight, curly, wavy, etc as long as it all looks polished that way they can work with their texture.

Love the idea, don't like how it will translate to the floor. Her uniform is already bulging and bunching and she hasn't even moved yet.

    Sigh.
These had a lot of potential. That is hands down too many straps and cut out bits
