Northeastern University in Boston, a Division I Member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association, is accepting applications for the position of Head Cheerleading Coach. This is a part-time, annual renewable appointment and does not include benefits. Position runs from August through April.

Duties include but are not limited to: training, instruction, and performance of the varsity cheerleading team; being present at all cheerleading team practices, home athletic events (as decided by the Assistant Director for External Affairs), and at any NCA National & Regional competition. This position is also responsible for supervising a part-time Assistant Cheerleading Coach, recruiting cheerleading team members and maintaining proper safety certification (AACCA). The Head Coach works in coordination with the Assistant Director, Marketing & Promotions to manage game and schedules, as well as Cheerleading squad appearance requests both on-campus and within the community. Other duties would include assisting the team with fundraising, alumni outreach, travel plans and coordinating routines with the Dance Team for performances at home athletic events.

Bachelor’s degree required. Cheerleading coaching and competition experience at the collegiate or professional level preferred; good organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills; ability to work in team leadership. Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
