But think of it like this. Covering 1/2 of your trip, or covering 1/10th of your trip, which would you prefer? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the highest partial paid in Canada right now is only $3000, and if you consider most teams in Canada are international, that's only a little over 120 per athlete (assuming these teams are taking 24 people). I'd much prefer to be handed 600+ dollars towards my trip than 100.
Also, unless you live rather close to Orlando, full paids don't cover much more than 1/2 for most American teams.

    HEY CANADA!!
Can you all please take a moment to vote for the Cheerforce GG's to get new practice wear and uniforms. It would mean the world to us! We are the only team from Canada nominated and it would be great to have the nation behind us!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! - Its just one simple click! THANK YOU!

Personally, I'd say if you could make it both days, go both days, however I'd say competition is a bittt better on the Friday night. Either way, you're gonna get a few quality teams and a few less quality teams. I would say the Friday is a bit better, only because I'd rather watch what Canada is bringing on the Worlds stage potentially this season than what Canada's universities have to offer for REALLY only that competition (I know some teams compete later in the season but PCA is what matters around here). The only reason I'd say Saturday might be better is because of the attendance and atmosphere. I noticed last year more people attended Saturday (granted, Friday was a huge storm causing many athletes from many teams to not even make it to the competition to compete on time) and it was a bit more high energy for your big teams like Western and Queens. Also I hear the after party's better Saturday night, but I was a little tired and only attended Friday night's after party and Saturday's competition.

For level 5&6 action, I'd say Friday night since that's when all the Worlds teams go, but I'd really recommend both days because Saturday is so fun to watch the universities go head to head in the biggest competition of the year for most of them. On Saturday it's an all-day event with lots of families and friends coming to see the teams, whereas I got more of a "battle for the bids" feel on Friday evening. Plus Western is pretty phenomenal to watch, along with quite a few others. And the Saturday party is highly recommended since everyone will be done competing by then :D

Anyone want to talk about the decision to compete only level 6 this year for ICU?? At this point, I'm disappointed. I think being in both divisions would allow more athletes to participate for Team Canada and will help us develop better athletes at both divisions. Level 6 is also pretty difficult to learn, even for experienced level 5 flyers. Trying to hit the rotations can be scary, even when you pull those skills on the floor. I worry we'll lose a lot of strong athletes because they don't have the level 6 experience and that this may lower the quality of the ICU program overall.

I'm so proud of my gym, this year we get our second World Champ title in International All Girl level 6 division! I think it's incredible for a Canadian gym, knowing that we're not competitive as the USA ones :)

Countries are only allowed to field two teams this season - one all girl and one coed is the maximum. A decision to run Elite or Premier had to be made (we aren't allowed to do both). Given that Canada has won 5 times in both All Girl and Coed Elite it is time for a new challenge.

Thanks for clarifying. I hadn't heard about that new rule and most people I know have't either, since many aren't happy with the change. That does make a lot more sense though. Was there a reason given?? I'd still prefer to see as many people participate from all countries, though I can assume it's easier for us and the US to get more high caliber athletes out

I wasn't there last year (my father was sick) but the resolution was passed at the ICU general meeting just prior to Worlds last year. I don't know the rationale but it did pass with only a very few countries opposing it.

Personally, I'm excited. I think this announcement is going to force everyone trying out to up their game even more than they have needed to in previous years, especially for the guys. I think it's going to force the males to be more all-around athletes, as they'll need to stunt well and be able to carry at least some of the tumbling score, considering at least half of the males on Team USA could full last year.
@pctmom I knew about the rule but not the specifics, would a country be allowed to enter, for example, an all girl elite and a coed premier, or are you only allowed to enter one level?

This win garnered one of my favourite moments from Worlds 2013. We were in the awards ceremony awaiting the results, and I was standing with a few friends from Twist and Shout Obsession. We were talking about general things and when they announced 3rd I remember one girl saying "I don't even know why we have to be here. Passion's obviously going to win", and when they announced Passion as second I remember thinking to myself how great it is that, although Flyers has had great success in the division, the "underdog" can still come from behind and win, and surpass expectations. I think it's something that many teams in Canada right now are on the brink of and it's great that Flyers can kind of lead the way and win in such a competitive year for open all girl 6.
