I don't know if this has been answered in the past but one thing I've always wondered about muslim girls on teams. If a girl wanted to cover herself (long trousers, headscarf, no crop top) would the whole team have to wear the same thing or could she wear the different option? Maybe wearing leggings and a body liner? Would it affect scores in any way if they're not all dressed the same?

I've had Muslim girls on my teams before. They wear a sport hijab (no pins to secure it, usually it's velcro), and they wear black leggings under their skirt. The rest of the uniform is the same, as our tops have long sleeves. There is no deduction for the additions to the uniform, as they are still in uniform. And the sport hijab requirement is actually written into our rules as allowed

I'd seriously side eye any competition that deducts for an athlete who needs to be more covered to feel comfortable/appropriate to participate. I'd also let any athlete who feel the need to wear these things to do so, whether for religious reasons or comfort reasons do so. I want kids participating, not opting out because of uniforms.

I didn't want to start a whole thread for this but, what are some tips for getting kids ages 8-10 to learn how to count ? They're brand new cheerleaders and I have a really cute routine set up for them and I have the music very easy to count to.. I just didn't know if anyone had any good drills or info for teaching new cheerleaders how to count. Thanks!

Teach them specific parts of the routine, say the opening stunt first, and drill it. Once they know what happens on which count, let them practice to music. Let them listen to the entire mix but specifically the part of the routine that you're drilling.
Point out certain parts of the song, start etc to them and let them count to the music when going over said part.
Once they remember certain parts,it'll click and from there you can continue counting and adding in other sections.
That is what worked for our girls.

I’m a music and movement specialist teacher by training.

The first step in learning to count is to develop beat bonding. Walking to music with a strong steady beat, and then adding something (a jump, a clap, etc) on specific beats works well. The goal is to be able to continue that internal beat without music or anyone counting, but keep it steady. A lot of beat bonding could be integrated into conditioning, and you could work on that while also working on the routine. If your kids have a good school music program, they may already have those skills solidly.

I always started with 8-count tracks (which I changed the pace of so that it matches the pace of their music). When they were able to go through their routine with the 8-count music we'd introduce the actual routine music and do a ton of mark-throughs. After that, we'd tackle section by section (including the transitions) with the real music and then put it piecewise together.

Not sure where to ask this, Does anyone know how I can order a Worlds Champion shirt for my CP? Her team won Worlds, but I wasn't there to get one for her this weekend. Hoping there is a way to still get her one.
Thanks

I'd reach out to USASF. I know kids have been able to order replacement rings when they were lost/stolen, so I can't imagine not being able to get your hands on the shirt. It's not like they were given to the kids for free; they had to be purchased. I am sure someone will be happy to take your $.
