I don't know either way for a fact, but I would not assume the USASF is similar unless you've seen what their criteria is. Their standard for other things in the past have proven to be less than expected.
No, I definitely have not seen what they filter for on their background checks. I guess I must not have made my point well but, she said in her original post this person wouldn't have passed the USASF background check. On another post she said they had just been released from prison on multiple robberies. My point only being, I'm not sure that those multiple robberies would necessarily be flagged even on the USASF background check if they don't pose a threat to children. Most insurance companies now require churches to do background checks on all adults working in their children's program to get coverage and "multiple robberies" would not flag as a threat to child safety by insurance standards.

ETA: I just noticed @Cheerlicious post above stating that the USASF does not allow a felony charge.

Sorry for the double post but, since I looked it up, here are the parameters set by the USASF:

CRITERION OFFENSES
Reportable convictions, registrations or pending dispositions, or disclosures of convictions, registrations or pending dispositions for any of the following criminal offenses or registrations will prompt a determination that an applicant ‘does not meet’ the criminal background screening criteria and a red light determination will be issued:

R1. Any felony (any crime punishable by confinement greater than one year)

a. Defined on the basis of exposure to the offense for which the defendant was convicted, pled guilty or pled nolo contendere. If pled down, then the crime to which the defendant ultimately pled.

b. Defined by all crimes punishable by greater than one year in jail or prison, regardless of how characterized by jurisdiction. If range, alternate sentencing, or indeterminate sentencing, outer range > one year.

R2. Any lesser crime involving force or threat of force against a person.

R3. Any lesser crime of a sexual nature or classified as a sex offense including but not limited to "victimless" crimes of a sexual nature such as prostitution, pornography, indecent exposure; and crimes in which sexual relations is an element.
R4. Any lesser crime involving controlled substances (not paraphernalia or alcohol).

R5. Any crime involving cruelty to animals.
R6. Any sex offender registrant.

R7. Any lesser crime involving harm to a minor.

Criminal offenses include "Attempted Crimes" in the above classifications.

Applicants will be asked the following questions during the process and will respond with a YES or NO:

  1. Have you ever been convicted, or do you have a pending charge, of a felony?
  2. Have you ever been convicted, or do you have a pending charge, of any lesser crime involving force or threat of force against a person?
  3. Have you ever been convicted, or do you have a pending charge, of any lesser crime of a sexual nature or classified as a sex offense including but not limited to "victimless" crimes of a sexual nature such as prostitution, pornography, indecent exposure
