My school has a junior lot and a senior lot. The junior lot is by the football field past the high school an d the middle (a 10 minutes walk to the high school). The parking lot permits are $15 each no matter which lot you use but they are different colors. Junior lot is green, senior lot is red sticker. A lot of people will park in the junior lot since the staff is too lazy to walk down there and check everyone's permits. The senior lot is a little different. The spaces are usually always filled and since people have an issue of parking next to other cars, parking usually takes a long time. The staff will check our permits there. If someone is parked in the senior lot with either a junior permit or no permit then they will get a warning first and if that doesn't work their vehicle will get towed at the student's expense.

That's the one thing I think is a bit crazy, towing? lol, if anything just boot em!

Well when I was in school it was $5 for a parking tag but you can park anywhere you want. Our school was big and one story so it was speed out very far an multiple different building. There is parking all around all the buildings people generally would park close to their first period or their sixth period. Really never a problem and I don't even think they checked the tags so it was pointless. Late or early or on time it was fine!

Besides the houses u see across the street all those tops are buildings where the school just kept growing and they just kept adding. there is the huge lot by the football field and another one beside it then on the other side there is all those smaller single row lots.

I find it so ridiculous. It hasn't happened this year but it happened quite a few times last year. Our school staff thinks they are better than what they actually are. They also quiz us before they give us the permit.

Wow, barely see any room for parking! lol

The senior lot is the group of spots before the second gate. lol. With your school, theres not much to choose from so it must be a pain when someone takes your spot! lol

I don't think our school is as big as yours and anyone can park anywhere! Even though the hugest lots are on the left side there is parking all around so it actually works out fine. Yall's is huge and all to one side I would hate to be way down the other end lol

Eta: the pic showed up for me... Lol

Oh okay, good! lol & yeah, my friend who drove me last year parked alll the way back there.. it was hell -_- Especially towards the end of the year in FL!! Luckily it never rained!

If you don't have the proper parking sticker on your window, you get ticketed. I think its like a $20 fee? There is a cop that does random checks. Sometimes you get away with it, but he usually checks at least once a week. Or if he gets complaints that someone couldn't park where they are supposed to he'll go take a look.
Oh wait... forgot to mention that it costs over $200 to get a pass ....... even if you park in the lot that is a 10 minute walk to the school

Parking for my school was free. it is for strictly seniors and we have to have a driving partner to share the spot with, so you better find someone that lives close! the back row of the lot was "emergency" for junior or seniors who had appointments or something where they had to drive to school. if you didn't have a parking pass or parked in emergency without an excuse your car was booted and you had to pay a fine to have it taken off. they were very strict about it.

I could rant about parking at my school for hours. I live in a very liberal, (supposedly) environmentally friendly town so they will do anything they can to discourage driving. My school doesn't even have a parking lot for students. It has two strips of road you can park on. The one most people prefer is a one way and is near everything on campus. However there are so few spots that I have to leave the house 40 minutes before school even starts to get a spot and I live 5 minutes away. The other strip of road has even less spots and is all the way at the bottom of my school so you either have to walk a huge hill or a bunch of stairs up to the main building if you park there. If you don't take a spot on one of the two roads, you pretty much have to park in two hour parking. You almost always get caught if you leave your car too long and tickets are $65.
And we don't even have senior parking :(

We don't have parking for any students at schools in the UK. That's a sweeping statement and there maybe one or two that do but as a general rule the only people that can park on school site are the teachers and the visitors. Although really, at a lot of schools, there is barely enough room for the teachers. AT my last school I had to park outside on the road and if I got there after a certain time there was no room :( and it would take me ages of trawling the side streets trying to find a space. And I was a teacher!!!!!

Wow I cant believe all these stories. Why do y'all have to pay so much to park and or not have parking lots. This is crazy...

I've been driving to school by myself since I was 15 on a permit. About 2 months into my 10th grade year was when I started.
(yes my mom was not suppose to let me drive by myself with a permit but she did. It was like 15 mins away)

I turned 16 that year but didn't get my license till summer after 10th grade. So I drove almost all of 10th grade on a permit.

Jr and Sr year I had a license and drove all that time. I would not have been at school a lot if they didn't allow us to drive to school or if parking would have been a problem. So wow it's crazy how things are so different everywhere! The bus was to early for me because we had to ride with middle schoolers and they went to school before us so I would have been stuck on the bus for 1.5hrs lol I was not doing that

I'm a junior and good thing my mom hasn't seen this thread, she would had flipped about having to pay $100 for my parking permit! :) We have a senior lot and then a junior lot. Seniors are guarentted a pass then there is a lottery for the juniors (seems like all juniors that wanted a permit got one) Both lots are pretty close to the school so there is no problems! Surprising sense my school is so big and has a ton of drivers!
