go for it! you just need another base close to your height or that can adjust to yours. i'm really short too lol i started out flying then learned to base & now i do both

im a flyer and about 5 ft and my bases are a few inches shorter than me so im sure you could try basing

i have been a flyer,base, and backspot but i enjoy backspotting much more because i have weak wrist so i cant hold someone for that long and tumble

Was strictly a side base until a few months ago, now I mainly fly but am still a beasty side base!

I like the way you can catch either side, even if your flyer goes over the top of your bases heads you can normally move to catch her

Aw the vote for front spot is so low...I know so amazing front spots who should probably base because they typically try harder and do a lot more then the base.
