That's handy. That way you know who is going to be there when and you can structure accordingly. Plus the kids still get a break. Personally, if you are on a high-level, over-rostered team, I don't get why you'd ever give them the opportunity to cut you. Imagine bumming off in the summer and getting stuck as an alternate (or worse, cut) on a team that goes off to win worlds. THAT would be a tough pill to swallow.
