There will be no teams in divisions by themselves. We will be following USASF rules for combining divisions.

USASF states: The divisions listed below will be split into “Small” (5-20) and “Large” (21-32/36) if there will be at least 2 teams in
each of the “Small” and “Large” divisions. See below for Senior Level 5 split information.

We are currently working on the performance order and deciding how Sunday's order of performance is going to work.

Thanks for all the information. That clears up a lot of questions for us rookie parents.

Thank you for answering our questions. I think the concern was with the magic number of teams that would necessitate 3 venues. If UCA had 500+ teams at 4 venues, on paper it could appear that the magic number is anything over 250 which the Summit has already surpassed. (I don't have any idea how many teams a individual venue could hold.)

As long as my child isn’t competing in a tent or in the rain at Indiana Jones Theater, I am a significantly happier parent. (My kids have competed in both… it was not fun.)

Personally, I feel that if you are in a division that has 5 or less teams, it would be nice if you would compete at the Jostens’s Center day 1, assuming you were guaranteed to compete in the HP Pavilion day 2. (Since everyone in those particular divisions are guaranteed 2 days of competition.) I would prefer to allow the divisions that have 20+ teams to be in the HP Pavilion day 1 since such a large percentage of those teams are guaranteed only a 1 day performance. (Right now this is only 5 divisions out of 35 that are over 20 and 9 out of 35 that are 5 or less.)

That said, I understand that logistically you probably need to group levels together for judging purposes. Also, if you draw the line in the sand that divisions with 20+ teams are in the HP, you will inevitable make the division with 16 teams mad that they have to compete somewhere else. It is a slippery slope. I don't envy you for having to figure this out.

Again, I am very, very gratful that my child is not competing in a tent. I appreciate you taking the time to answer our questions. :)

I know you mentioned that the performance order will be a random draw. Do you plan on having something similar to a Worlds lottery where everyone gets to see how the schedule is selected?

I wondered this as well, and thought it may not be possible as there are crossovers permitted at the Summit. So even a random draw may need to be tweaked a bit (I'm assuming.)

WHOA tiger I am not sure if Varsity designates you as their "fierceboard representative" or if you are just answering these questions to help us all out, but either way you have been extremely helpful, and not just with the Summit, but with other concerns/questions as well. I just want to say thank you! You are an excellent representative for Varsity, and if they don't know what a great employee they have in you I would be happy to pass that information along to whoever I can (in other words you deserve a raise girl!)

Are they going to raise the number of teams heading to finals for the divisions with 20+ teams?

Still have the j5 question. At UCA they combined small and large all girl together. There are one in each. They also combined coed large (1 team for Summit) and coed small( 4 teams for the Summit). Is this the way it will be done for the Summit also. All girl vs all girl and coed vs coed.
