Now Casting: Cheering Again
I hope it’s cute. I looked into the casting company and their shows lean to the trashy side, so that’s worrisome. But the description sounds like something that’ll be positive. Hope so.
Yes, if positive would be fun to watch!
It won't end well. I hope any athlete who looks at this is very careful. They are going to stereotype and go for drama. It won't do the sport any favors. I hope I'm wrong. I'd be so happy if I am wrong.
I thought so too, but they’re specifically looking for people who cheered in the 90s and 00s. So I hope they know they’re going to get people who are a bit older and probably not primed for the drama like kids in their twenties would be. I’d assume most of the people who’d apply have jobs and families and lots at stake. So they’ll be less likely to embarrass themselves for reality tv drama.
Have you not watched reality tv? People of any age create drama and do stupid things for fame.
I fall into the category of what they’re looking for. I cheered all star, was forced to retire early due to battling cancer, and I’m now 30 years old and trying to return to cheer.
I wouldn’t participate in something like this. I want to return to cheer because it was something I loved and I feel like I was forced to leave that part of my life unfinished. It has been something I’ve been attempting to return to in some capacity for a long time. I want to return and enjoy cheer, I don’t want my return to be associated with some reality television show that will definitely fixate on some type of challenge or drama.
