Do you get points deducted if you start off your UCA routine with the cheer section at the beginning?

I think you can do it in whatever order you want. Time starts at the first voice/music cue/movement.

That is correct but most squads tend to begin their routine with the first music portion for about one minute and then the cheer portion followed by the second music portion.

You Can do your cheer where you want to. It does not matter, many do it in the middle because most elite tumbling and stunts can have "fresh legs"... and while cheer is a cardio workout, it allows you to take a moment to clear your head before going into what is hopefully a strong pyramid.. however, no matter where it is, the execution and hitting the scoresheet is the most important along with really getting the overall picture.

Your cheer judges are looking at cheer and only cheer... they are looking for a seamless transition to/from music constantly leading the crowd.
