Hard to believe that a year ago this week, the Image & Appearance rules were first released. The outcry was pretty immediate and if you think people can't have an impact, then you just need to revisit the first 30 days after the release.
In remembrance of the anniversary, I'm reposting my little ditty about the event.

A long, long time ago… I can still remember how
Cheerleading used to make me smile.
And I knew if they had a chance,
That they could make those people dance,
And maybe they’d be happy for a while.
But March 28 made me shiver,
With every twitter I’d deliver,
Bad news on the bow front…
Anger couldn’t be more blunt.
I can’t remember if I cried
When I heard how tumbling was denied
But something touched me deep inside,
The day cheer almost died.
Soo..Bye, bye my theatrical Gay
Brought excitement to the party when the party was gray
And all the girls were worried about what they weigh
Singing this will be the day that I fly
this will be the day that I fly
Did you read the new rule book
And do you hate the things they took
Increasing values of our mounts
Do you believe in All Star Cheer
Can Worlds alone strip the veneer
Then can you teach me the new dance counts
Well I know that you’re in love with it
Though Unis now must cover a bit
We all kicked off our shoes
And risked safety deduction blues
Then all the lonely teenage bouncin’ jacks
With pink carnations and a load of facts
Drove the train back on the tracks
