BUT who needs IB/AP testing if you're a WORLD CHAMP?
CHEER IS LIFE.
Try telling that to cp’s IB advisor...
Lol i wish it was that easy
Honestly in my opinion parents should get in free, i mean they are already the ones who are having to pay thousands a year for allstar cheer.
I know it's not just from this season, but having a different score sheet all year and then switching to a Worlds score sheet. Just please pick one and let coaches plan for that
School is one reason why my CP is likely to stay in prep. Summit is finals week for her. She’ll have a super-senior year of eligibility, so maybe she can take a gap year and cheer .
It seems insane that a sport with so many high achieving kids can’t take AP and IB exams into account and schedule Worlds, Summit, etc a few weeks later!
Agreed. Worlds and Summit used to be a week earlier, and I don't think there were nearly as many conflicts. Scheduling later means you are now getting in to finals weeks and/or AP testing for many colleges/high schools. The competition season is so long - I'd rather see it end mid-April and give these kids and coaches a break before tryouts start the season all over again!
I believe the reason they don’t hold Worlds and Summit any earlier is at least partially because of Easter - I remember a few years ago Easter fell on the Sunday before Worlds. Also, the Disney parks still see spring breakers through mid-April... adding thousands of cheerleaders into the mix just adds to the craziness.
•Teams double dipping In international summit divisions and bouncing between international and regular every other competition.
•The way summit bids were distributed this season.
Scores and scoresheets need to be available at all comps for all levels. Seriously folks, we are out of our minds for paying so much for a sport that does not automatically release scores. It is unethical and we shouldn’t allow it.

Unpopular opinion but using crossovers so much that you have to have a worlds/summit tryout to replace them. Why can't you just places kids on e team and allow them to reap the benefits of their season? I under stand having to replace kids who quit, or can't financially afford the competition.
yes. id be a salty person, knowing i busted my a** all season to get to worlds or summit, and then have someone tryout for that worlds team and automatically get the chance to experience worlds right off the bat.. I do get injuries, finances and people quitting, but i feel more times then not its because of so many crossovers.
I don't know the inner workings of my own gym let alone anyone else's, but I think the gyms people are referring to haven't taken anyone off teams where they won't be competing at Worlds or Summit, and I think it's a pretty standard practice at some gyms.
oh i dont think people are removed, but with so many crossovers, it obviously leaves open spots once those crossovers go back to their original teams. ive seen plenty of big gyms advertise for worlds/summit athletes around worlds season on social media. Im not side eyeing the practice, due to a lot of reasons, but if i was an athlete on a high calibur worlds team, id be a little salty towards a new kid walking in two months before worlds.
