What things do y'all think are Worlds rules, traditions, etc., not addressed in a packet, but might be great for a first-timer to know? (Aside from the park hopper and session ticket stuff...)

    Examples:
    - Tan before you leave. Not once, but for a few weeks. Florida sun is real.
    - Yes, athletes very much walk around in full cheer hair, bow, lashes, makeup and practice wear. It's ok. They all do it.
    - Don't expect to sleep for 4 days.

    Any others?

I've been as a spectator four times and I legitimately had no time to visit the parks. I would imagine I would have even less time as a competitor. I haven't been in two years, so maybe with the new extra day they've thrown in I could swing it. But going down Thursday - Monday each time I never found any time (or money) to go to the parks.

Between the lack of sleep and the amount of germs that get passed around, expect to get mildly sick. Take emergen-c/vitamin c before you get there.

Oh and take some kind of jacket with a hood because it will rain at some point every day down there.

    This.
Take some type of cold medicine for your athlete. They all get stuffy.

Do not let Disney deliver your athlete's bags (or your own) from the airport. If you are checking bags, get them off of the carousel and put them on your transfer yourself. Then get them once you get to the hotel. It could take hours (or days) for them to get the bags to the right rooms if you have them delivered. Disney does a great job in general, but most athletes need their bags immediately.

Our rule of thumb is to pack uni, bow, cheer shoes in your carry on. That way if everything else gets lost, you can still compete.

Bring a jacket or a blanket when you go to watch teams. It may be 95 degrees outside, but it is 50 in the Milkhouse. You can bring your own food into the venues so bring snacks and drinks.
If your kid is staying at the all-star, it gets out of control, espcially Monday night. Keep your babies close and threaten your older babies with their lives lol. However, tell your kids to enjoy the experience of Worlds - there are so many friends to be made and fun times to be had!!
Take a photo of the front and back of your credentials/passes as soon as you get them. It is much easier to replace them if they get lost.

Bring an extra extension cord or two. That way the athletes can plug all of their stuff in.

Since we are on the subject...if your friend gets you a drink while you are waiting in line in front of the Milkhouse, it is okay for them to get back in line with you @Mamarazzi ...it gets hot in the afternoon :D

It will most likely rain one/all of the days. It could be a quick sun shower, or a heavier thunder storm - so just be prepared for that possibility. For this reason my advice is to think about what type of shoes you wear. It tends to be cooler in the Milkhouse/Fieldhouse, so if you wear flip flops/sandals your feet may get chilly - not to mention when you have to walk/run/sprint in potential rain think about your foot wear :) We may get lucky and no rain - but it has been extremely warm here, and that usually means rain at some point.
