Senior 4.2 is a great idea. What do you think of YOUTH 2.4 for younger athletes that are higher level tumblers but can't pull off some of the harder stunts?

It might be good for younger ones with a gymnastics background who normally would only be put on a higher team to tumble if 2.4 exsited they could learn to stunt safely and get the basics solid

No, a million times no. We already have too many divisions. Y3 and y4 aren't exactly saturated divisions to begin with. Adding another division just dilutes them even further. Youth aged kids should be able to learn the stunts. Do they need the absolute hardest stunts imaginable? Of course not, but they can learn them.

4.2 was created specifically for the senior HS athlete who knows how to stunt, but has reached an age where learning to tumble becomes significantly harder. It was created to grow the sport by giving those girls something geared towards them.

If you have level 4 tumblers that can't handle level 4 stunts, go y3 or start with simplified y4 stunts and work the difficulty in. There is absolutely no reason to add a division in when there are maybe 50 teams in the nation in y3/y4 combined.

I do see your point. I guess Susie will just have to learn the stunts if she wants to be level 4/5:rolleyes: Lol

No. Youth aged kids still have time to learn all the skills sets needed for level 4/5. If it's an older youth age kid, then they can go to senior 4.2;we don't need anymore divisions or crazy moms pushing their kids to be on 4.2.

Oh lord no...that could be all kinds of crazy; especially with progressing younger athletes to tumble beyond what they should be doing, knowing they'll just catch up with stunting later.

Here's a crazy thought. Let's stop putting so much emphasis on tumbling and start focusing on well rounded cheerleaders. (Not aimed at OP)

The emphasis on tumbling is not going to go away. Tumbling classes are the bread and butter for gyms. It's much harder to staff and fill up stunt, jump and flex classes. Tumbling is always going to weigh heavily on the scoresheet because the tumbling coin is heavier in the pocket.

Oh I know. I just think it's crazy to push for tumbling while ignoring the other parts of the routine.
