Wait you can do that? So he was an alternate on Smoed and competed on Coed? Or was he an alternate for both?
he was on coed as a main athlete. he was easy to spot, because he did last pass during both days at worlds. he got bronze for that. also, he got gold with smoed for helping them from the start of the season (helped get paid bid).he came an alternate just before nca and remained an alternate all the way up to worlds.

He wasn't an alternate at worlds though was he? Because I feel like that would be illegal. Even if it isn't it would be pointless since he wouldn't be able to fill in on Smoed if they needed him as an alternate.
ETA: Purely just a curiosity question if it's legal to be on two rosters at worlds with one as an alternate, I'm sure that had no impact on him getting a medal.

yeah that doesnt make since to me, i dont get how you can be an alternate for another worlds teams at worlds, when you are already competing at worlds.
plus im sure there are/were plenty of other alternates for other worlds teams in the beginning that globed, so where is their worlds medal ?
unless there is an injury such as what happened to coed elite or top gun i dont get that rule.

Since the subject of alternates came up, can someone catch me up on what happened and how the alternates worked for Coed Elite when they had two kids get injured? Did I read that a "retired" female cheerleader stepped in to help? (I hate to use kids' names) If so, I think that's pretty cool.
And where did the boy alternate come from?

This also confuses me. I don't see how you can be on two rosters at worlds, even as an alternate. If they actually needed a replacement, he couldn't have filled in, could he? Did they simply keep him in the roster under the impression that "oh you can't actually compete for us but we'll keep you on there so you get a medal when we place at worlds as a thank you for helping us out."

Is this a typical practice for worlds teams?

I think the boy was listed as an alternate. His main team is junior coed crush.
As for the girl ... I don't know. Don't think she was listed since she said she was there as a viewer and was surprised to receive the call asking her to fill in.

Maybe @mstealtoyou or someone else from cea can clarify?

I am in the dark about Meg's periscope. Gonna have to figure this one out over the next couple of days!
Catching up with fierceboard friends and watching their CPs, some for the first time and some for the last, (although there were a few I really wanted to meet up with and didn't get to :()
Rockstar IOC5
Seeing 2 of CPs' former teammates become World Champions on Sunday night
Seeing my bff's CP make finals her first year on a Worlds team
USA Wildcats making finals
Medium coed. All of it - from start to finish. And not just from Worlds but all season long. There are so many talented and good-hearted teams in that division!
You missed it! I'm Meg, btw :)
Essentially, the live stream went down on USASF's website and I periscoped the competition so people could still watch! My dad and my cats were on the screen during breaks for entertainment purpose.

Also, during large coed and all girl awards, my dad was giving commentary and predictions! It was a fun time!

this kinda makes sense to me, but i cant imagine USASF allowing teams to do that for some reason. but then again i guess they just did, lol.

Most worlds teams will bring a couple alternates at least from what I've seen

If that is the real reason, all I can say is:

"Lol*"

I actually was wondering about Worlds medals. During some award ceremonies at least, one of the just gave a bunch of medals to one athlete on the team to pass them around. Do they prepare the number of medals beforehand ? Like kids who competed + coaches + alternates (exact numbers listed for each team) ? Or do they give a set amount (like 25 medals for a small divisions, to include every person who should get a medal for the team) ?

My CP hitting her elite stunt with a base that had never based before and was a backspot previously
Discovering a "Hat Trick" Drink which will now be a requirement for me at EVERY Worlds
Watching 2 of my CP's friends win gold
Watching Reign hit both days
My CP reconnecting with her BFF after a few years of not speaking
Wishing I had been able to see more of my Cheer Mom Friends.....
