I know we have this discussion every year but it really is an interesting one.

Like, can we really call it an 'international' division if it's all American and Canadian teams? Because let's be real, if it were just the highest scores, it would be mostly Americans. If you ask me, that's not an 'international' competition. Just like the Super Bowl isn't a 'world championship' since they're all Americans...
But it would be an international competition where the BEST teams are in finals... All the countries would still be able to compete in semis but it would be solely by score that teams advanced. I don't see how that's not international. They competed, they just weren't good enough to make finals. It's not fair that you can be "top 10 in the world" when teams like TG OO5 and CheerForce Nfinity aren't.... IMO today's placements mean WAY more than finals placements because you're actually placing where you deserve to.
I'd even be okay with sending at least one team from each country to finals and then beyond that just top 10. That way other countries would be represented but the top ten would still be true top 10. Plus then you have to be the best in your country at least.

This! I usually only consider today's placements when thinking about Worlds finishes for the international divisions.

In my dream world, the Worlds would be a truly international competition. Right now it's more like a nationals, since most divisions are all US, maybe with a few token teams from other countries. Which is okay for now. But it would be nice, once cheer grows more in other countries (and it's growing very rapidly in places like Aus and Canada), to have an international mix in all divisions.

Yeah, it's growing so fast over here in aus it seems like theres new teams at every comp. We have some pretty good worlds teams but none of them have hit yet :( (look up toxic weapons, eod onyx, qce diamonds and my fav: outlaws allstars kelly girls) It would be so cool to see more international team in the top 5.

To me, it's the same as the gymnastics finals, where the number from each country is limited. Because it's boring and not really 'international' if the finals were to be all US, Russia, Romania and China as we all know they would be.

I would be terribly bored watching a final made up of all Americans. Keep the 3 from each country rule, but work in a minimum score.

In the international divisions this year, the top 1o have like 3-4 countries represented and the top 20 have like 5-6, that's quite a bit more than "just Americans"
