Is that the weird "c" shaped white sparkle next to the eyes I keep seeing? It's so distracting. Not that other parts of cheer aren't, but it's not cute in pictures at all.

Contouring is explained earlier in this thread. It's basically when you take a dark shade of makeup and put it where light doesn't hit and you take a lighter shade and put that where light would naturally hit. The over highlight by the eyes is just people not knowing when stop putting on highlight or glitter.

I know what normal contouring is, however, that is not what I'm seeing at comps and IGs.

It's funny that glitter make up and hair pieces were the bane of my existence when I cheered in the early 2000s yet here we are in 2016 with them back as a "trend".

YES!!!!!! In fact, Ill raise it to no more "run by mom" IG accounts of their #futurewildcat.

What's even worse is the terrible grammar on these...they almost always read "ran by mom."

100% agreed. Even if your child goes to sleep super early, waking them up at 4am to travel, get ready, or warm up is no good and often doesn't set them up for great performances.

I'd like to see tight buns at the top die.. I'm sorry to squads that do this... But it's not flattering on everyone...

Our gym did buns for youth and mini this year. I'm over it. Fingers crossed they don't continue!

They're probably just doing a more intense version of it. Theres varying levels of contour.
