Assuming all of the front-runners hit, which rarely occurs, I think Rays and Cali are clearly the two best teams. Cheer Athletics has a lot of skill, but they tend to be a bit sloppy. I don't think Suns has what it takes to compete with the big dogs...mainly because of their lack of tumbling. After watching Orange both days at Cheersport, it is clear to me that it is going to be very difficult for someone to overtake them at Worlds this year (assuming they hit both days). Sure, there are a lot of other small senior teams that match or have more talent and skill level than Orange, but where Orange continues to dominate is the "little" details of a routine; i.e., all of their toes are pointed in their jumps, the flyers' beautiful double-downs out of their stunts, their tumbling form is beautiful, no bent legs. No one can touch them when it comes to those details. In my opinion, CEA comes the closest, as evidenced by their consecutive Worlds Silver medals. I think the top three small senior teams are Orange, Cali and CEA.
While I agree that the Stingrays do have superior technique I'd have to say that this year if any year will be the most difficult for them to hold onto the Worlds & NCA title. They haven't been consistent as far as performances are concerned and their stunting difficulty has not increased which would not warrant scoring in the top range against their competitors. They are a very well rounded team which should play to their advantage and as mentioned before their tumbling technique is top notch however Cali is in a different league than the past "lady bullet" teams have been and they appear to be the front runner because the have it all across board. Cheer Athletics will surely be a top contender as will CEA, APX, Cheerforce, and CJA. Orlando has the makings of greatness however their stunt seems to lack proper technique and consistency. The WC Suns stunt well and we have to applaud them for that however their tumbling seems to lack the difficulty needed to score in the top range, and the overall polish of the routine is lacking. Let's be honest guys!
Orange proved that they are here to stay!
Congrats to Orange! They definitely were on fire this weekend and deserved their win hands down. However Garrett426 I still stand by my original post in which I did applaud Orange for superior technique but it is fact that Cali's routine is more difficult and that they beat themselves. How could Cali win when they had a drop and a safety deduction for jewelry? Plus I never said that Orange wouldn't or couldn't win I said that this season would be the most difficult to win which was and still is still is very true. It was Orange's weekend and they definitely deserve to be applauded.
I wouldnt say cali beat themselves. If they had hit who knows what wouldve happen. Orange had a higher raw score day 2 which counts 80%.
Of course they had a higher raw score. Cali dropped which not only gives them a deduction but also takes away from their stunt score as well. The fact remains that Cali does have more difficulty than Orange period! You'd serious have to be blind not to see that. Anyone who thinks otherwise has lost it because it's right in front of your face. You can not compare 5 full and a half up stretch to stretch tic tocks to 4 full and a half ups and 4 switch up to front stretches. It's so not fair if you would even consider than to be a long the same lines. They had a freaking jewelry legality ane you are arguing that they stunt the same or even less is insane. That's so not fair!
i dont think thats what he was saying at all haha, you are getting all worked up, when he was just stating facts. All he said was if CALI hit, who knows what would have happened.
And my whole thing is this, we truly have no idea whos raw score would be higher, because on day 1 cali and orange BOTH had mistakes, cali in a stunt, and orange in their pyramid! im not sure why people keep forgetting that orange to had mistakes on day 1! This takes away from execution on BOTH of their score sheets, on day 2 cali dropped and had some other deductions, so of course their raw score was lower. We wont know who has a higher raw score until worlds, and thats ONLY if both teams hit on the SAME day.
