This has been brought up before pretty sure Jamie did both so he has the ability to reuse his own work.

There was a team at UCA High School nationals that took the dance and used it, Jamie didn't choeograph their dance though.

UA Legacy had a big problem last season with teams taking their dance.

Jamie Parrish did both routines...and if both parties are okay with this...I guess theres no harm.

If they're good enough to have the excellent, clean tumbling, jumps, motions and stunting that they obviously had.....why not just have your own, original dance too? It annoys me.

hmm maybe because in georgia high school competes from late august to early november. he did their whole routine. i dont see why its such a big deal. it annoys me how people complain about it like geez no ones making their routine to fit your needs.

Does Jamie Parrish do the choreo for South though? If so, I wonder if it got approval beforehand since he did the WCSS dance. Just putting that out there. I know lots of local all star coaches do choreo for the high schools in the area, so it's a possibility I think.

yes he did the whole routine.

wasnt there a squad a few years back that used the whole WCSS routine? i remember both teams videos were posted on cheernj.com but then they were deleted of the site.

my friend showed me this video a few weeks ago because the WCSS routine is my favorite cheer mix that i have. I have mixed feelings about this becase when a team does a dance and someone else loves it you always wish that you could have an amazing dance like that but i would never want to have that exact dance. People will know its not original i mean come on this is WCSS we are tlaking about everyone knows them and has seen their routines. So i feel if i was a judge i would want to see something original. They did do a good job with the dance i just think you cant top WCSS performing it Just my opinion

There was high school squad last year that I noticed used Top Gun's exact music from 2009-2010. My team was very surprised when I knew all their music. I can guarantee they didn't have the permission. But then again, the team did not go to state or sectionals. Which I guess brings the question when and on what circumstances is stuff like this okay?

i mean they got 3rd in the state, so the judges must have liked it. i dont think the judges are supposed to refer to other peoples routines when judging someone elses.

their routine was awesome dont get me wrong ... but if i was a judge i just wouldnt want to see a dance move by move the same as another team .... I dont think that should take points off of their routine it just would look better in my opinion if it was an original dance

WHO actually 'owns rights' to choreography. I know you technically 'can't,' but if you're paying for choreography, even if it's not a team you're going against, would you want to have a say in whether or not it could be used? I'm talking less about created elements (like Maddie's ballup 360, although if you notice, how many of us refer to it as 'hers' whether or not it actually is!) and more dances. Even though the choreographer 'creates' it, once someone pays for it, does ownership transfer to them?
If there actually was ownership, then it would belong to the person who bought it. However, I think it would be very difficult to prove any type of ownership when it comes to cheerleading choreography.

How about ripped off music because this team is using Cheer Athletics Panthers 2010-2011 WHOLE cheer mix! It starts around 2:43

Couldn't you then say that any team that does something after another team does it is copying? I mean they paid a choeographer to put it in their routine? What if the same choeographer puts the same element in two routines? Is that wrong? They stay in the state of GA to compete anyway not like you are going to see them plastered all over ESPN.

If Jamie and the high school team doesn't care then so be it. They were probably super excited to be able to perform such a well known dance.
