We are being forced to move due to my husbands job and we are all very upset. My girls are 4, 6, and 8 and we need to find a gym for them. We are willing to drive for the right environment so it doesn't really matter where in Indy. This will be hard for my girls since they were at the same gym since they were babies. We recently left that gym and thought we'de found the perfect fit for them...and then found out we have to move. Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. They learned a lot of bad habits at their last gym and we need someplace patient and skilled enough to help them.

Best as far as results alone or considering other factors as well? We made a bad choice with our last gym (being newbies) and I really want to find them a good cheer home.

I don't think you're nuts. We did the "bad gym" thing for three years before we understood just what we'd done to our kid because we were uneducated. I actually think if we were forced to move this decision would actually dictate WHERE we bought a house. No lie.

Don't tell my husband (although he is a pretty supportive cheer dad), but proximity to the gym of our choice sure will be a factor during our house hunt.

I will say the same thing I always say. Go to the gyms for a tumble class or 2 (both of the ones mentioned above are good choices). You'll get a feel for how your girls "mesh" with the staff and other kids. I'm partial to Speed, but they're not my kids :D so you should check out both.

We go to Indiana Elite and know people who go to Speed. PM me if you want my relatively unbiased opinion. There are good and bad things about both. We're starting our 5th season with IE and CP is going into the 4th grade.

I wish I could put them in tumble classes at a few gyms to get a feel for them, but we are in Cincinnati and won't be moving until school is finished. Part of the reason this bothers me is that we worked hard to make it a smooth transition from the gym they'd been at for years to the one we planned to move them to. They had been tumbling there for months to build their comfort level...and then we got the job news and unfortunately we have no choice. I was so excited about the gym we had chosen for them too :( but anyway, moving forward.

Anyone know about Elite in Clayton?

Elite is a Christian gym..... Pretty small and conservative. Their teams do well at the local comps where I have seen them.

I don't have an issue with a smaller gym if they have shown some sort of success (the conservative part just depends on how they are conservative to me). We are having a hard time deciding where we want to buy a house right now. Tiffany's near Greenwood popped up last night, but I'm not sure about that area. We drove around Indy yesterday for like 8 hours looking for where we would like to be. Came to the conclusion that I DO NOT want to move, but that's not really an option

I am sorry! :( I can't imagine having to uproot and move like that. Indy really is an awesome city and I hope you will grow to love it! I live very close to Greenwood (Franklin township) but we drive an hour each way for cheer. My daughter is much older and is level 5 this season so she has worlds on the brain. If she was younger though Tiffany's is a cute program. They have good dance as well. My daughter calls them the barbie gym because they are pink/black and always look so sweet and girly.

I live about 60 miles south of Indy but unfortunately I was never able to travel to a gym out of town. My middle school team had choreography camp at Speed and I loved the atmosphere and the coaches. They have very successful teams and I would have loved to be able to travel to cheer there. Indiana Elite is also a great program and I'm sure you and your CP's would have a great experience at either gym. And one bright side of the move- no need to travel far for Jamfest Indy :)
