That's awesome that you know him! Hope he finishes well tonight!i'd like to see levya, orozco and horton for sure then i think its all over the place...i'd love to see my good friend brandon wynn who is a beast on rings make it
Having been to some of the meets... the way they set it up, the commentators are off to the right at the beginning of the vault runway, off the right end of the beam. The commentators are loud enough, that if you were just standing at beam or beginning of the runway, you would be able to hear them. Luckily, the gymnasts are used to blocking out the extra noise and getting in the zone. But for a first year senior, I imagine that could be a little overwhelming.i was watching Kennedy Baker's BB video from last night and Gabby was on UB during her performance, you can hear the commentators...that's so loud. i'm not sure if the athletes can here them but maybe they should quiet down a bit
yeah i was thinking the same thing. i know on bars and beam and esp floor you can easily block them out, but that the beginning of vault that would be a little hard. I just thought they were being a little too loud, i don't know the guys name but i don't like him...at all.Having been to some of the meets... the way they set it up, the commentators are off to the right at the beginning of the vault runway, off the right end of the beam. Haha don't worry, I don't like any of them. Tim Daggett, Al Trautwig, and Elfi Schlegel need to stop being the NBC commentators and make way for people who are great at presenting the meet. I love when they have John Rethlisberger and Tasha Schwikert do the commentary at smaller events, they should hire them full time.yeah i was thinking the same thing. i know on bars and beam and esp floor you can easily block them out, but that the beginning of vault that would be a little hard. they really should. Tim & Al... :banghead: it really annoys me when someone messes up and they're like "OHH OHH OHH THAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN" well...yeah...can you please say that without you sounding like the work is going to end?Haha don't worry, I don't like any of them. i wouldn't just cause he's from michigan...sorry lol its just a little ohio state-michigan rivalry haha but yeah he has a good shotWould put Mikulak into that mix of the Olympic team
I don't have an answer for you, but my guess is that since the guys are usually older, they are probably in college and do their training there. Why do some elite level men compete with college teams as their gym, but not the women? (I'm a bit of a gymnastics newbie - I like watching it but I have never competed in it myself so I'm not the most knowledgeable and I'm slightly confused).
Most women stay elite in a club before going and training NCAA because the caliber of women's NCAA vs. Elite is very different. I'm pretty sure in women's you cannot compete NCAA and Elite in conflict with one another, which is different from the men. Men who train college and elite together, usually compete at Nationals representing the facility in which they train, which would be that university. I only know of one woman who did that recently, which was Vanessa Zamarripa who competed NCAA with UCLA and then switched to Elite still representing UCLA as that was where she trained. Why do some elite level men compete with college teams as their gym, but not the women? I thought it was like that with the womens so I assumed it was the same with the mens, which is why I got confused. It's all very confusing, since the USAG men's and women's teams are run differently.
