I'm about to sound real stupid, but what exactly does being verified mean? I'm not totally gathering the definition from what I've been reading.
That makes sense. ThanksOn twitter they have the idea of verified users - a way of saying that a twitter user is a celebrity and not a fake. I don't think we necessarily have that problem here, but it's a useful way to say that @rulesguy is Les Stella and he's the one in charge of the rules for the USASF and @bluecat is one one of the owners of Cheer Athletics.
It's just nice to when interacting on the board that a user is someone important or cheer-famous/

Yeah, I don't care if people know who I am (there are plenty here who do), but I'm not about to post my full name so every crazy who doesn't agree with my opinion or my gym can come harass me in my private life.
SUPER off topic but my tattoo artist is a minister! Lots of tattoos and piercings! Best kind of ministers there are!Let me verify me right now! I was the owner of XPA in Madison. We recently moved to Florida. We were looking at opening a gym in Lakeland, however we took a drive to Clearwater for beach time and seen that Brandon is 20 minutes from home. I respect Peter very much and said I want my girls to be a part of the Brandon family. So now I am a full time judge. I am certified in just about all aspects, will be at the SW USASF meeting for my USASF safety judge testing. I am very much in favor of making this a sport. I am for a unified scoring system. I am an ordained minister, I do choreography and clinics. I am for crop tips and bling, Britney Spears is awesome music in any routine and so is David Guetta. My name is Chad Mulkey. Need anymore info, ask me. Also I am the only minister I know with tattoos and earrings. Most importantly, Angi Dunham and Amy Clark are the hardest working people I know in this industry. They deserve much love!

I have no problem being verified. But I thought I had to give verification when I became apart of the Coach's board.
"Butt-hurt" ? LOLI am a little on the fence about this subject. I do think it is a great idea if it is used correctly. I think legitimate gym owners, USASF judges, and possibly some popular informational twitter accounts such as Cheer Updates and Industry, etc, should be the only ones verified. I really do not think athletes or parents should be verified. I feel like it is just giving into the whole "cheerlebrity" frenzy which most on here do not like. People are going to end up getting butt-hurt because them/CP didn't get verified but Susie's mom/CP did because she cheers at Craptastic Allstars on team XYZ.

I am working on a process now. I am starting with those I know personally are involved in the board and have talked to on the phone. To be verified you can in no way be 'anonymous' on the board anymore, so not everyone wants to be. It will involve your real name, your position at your gym, and possibly a phone call.
I agree. If you say it then you should stand up for it."Butt-hurt" ? LOL
I don't believe the plan is to verify every cheer mom and dad. Just a handful of people in the industry who's opinions are sometimes valued a little more because of their role in the industry.
That said, I hate the opportunity for people to remain anonymous on message boards. People are so disrespectful and rude. I have to wonder that if everyone was actually forced to OWN their words and statements, would it change the environment here? I think it would--and for the better. Too many people hiding, in my opinion.
Come out, come out, wherever you are!
