Okay I actually don't have a problem with small flyers. It isn't even just a matter of replacing flyers. My problem is replacing veterans on a team with new people that have the exact same skill set. If you have 2 flyers - both have doubles, both have amazing jumps/dance/performance quality, but one has been on the team for 3 years and helped the team win worlds and the other one is new, then why would you boot the veteran off for the rookie? That is my biggest issue with CA. I hate that seniority means essentially nothing to them.

Maybe the veteran is old enough to be on an international team and the rookie isn't. Or maybe the veteran could be better used on another team to be a leader, and the rookie needs to be on a team full of leaders. OR maybe the rookie is smaller so even with the same skill set, she'd be easier to stunt, and maybe they have new bases who need a tiny flyer, and the veteran can be moved to a team with more experienced bases. Obviously they know how to create winning teams so I don't think you need to worry about it... they're fine.

Well obviously they know how to create winning teams. I think that they could still create winning teams without this particular method though.

There are definitely 2 schools of thought about this issue. Gyms like World Cup and CEA are more tradition based, and are more focused on honoring their seniors rather than pushing them out the door for new talent. Then you have gyms like CA and Cali who have no problem moving people around with no regards to seniority and experience. Obviously both methods work. I just value seniority and experience over new raw talent.

I'm pretty sure that some people are making some assumptions about our team selection process that simply are not true. Also, a professional coach evaluating an athlete's skills/ability/potential may not always reach the same conclusion as that athlete's parent.

However, regardless of who you are, no one gets a permanent lifetime pass for any team or any position. Tryouts are for one season only.

Thank you! Everyone there is doing amazing! I don't see why this turned into an argument about CA's flyers.

I just want to see some videos :(

I don't know the full story either but it seems to me it makes far more sense for someone who has always been a flyer to fly on a different team rather than to learn how to base level 5 stunts. It also seems to me that CA knows how to win, and puts teams together with the best chance of winning.
Or you could be like my CP and see the writing on the wall and learn how to base lvl 5 stunts;). Some of the best bases are ex-flyers..they know better than anyone what's going on in the air up there.

Senior Elite compete today in Charlotte then competes again tomorrow in Atlanta vs Orange.
World Cup Lites are at the Future 5 comp in Atlantic City
Don't know about F5. I know some Maryland Twisters teams are so maybe!

oops my bad, i thought because the cheersport schedule was released that it was this weekend.

Are they going to change the music? I'm not sure if it's my computer (which has been freaking out anytime I try to watch a video), but it doesn't seem that the routine quite matches up. Looks MUCH cleaner, even if the difficulty doesn't 'feel' like it quite matches up to others (which I'm sure could change at any moment lol). Are they purposefully lowering the music so they can talk over certain parts?

Tumbling sync looks amazing though.
